Lmao this was the same artist who made a full page comic panel telling people to suck it up and vote Harris without demanding changes or improvements for another 4 years, assuming she actually won.
Liberals don’t do jack when it comes to outrageous actions, they won’t ever move past protests.
Even the recent shooter wasn’t some longtime liberal or even a leftist. He was just some dude who was fed up and likely suffered various mental pain which is why they caught him with all the possible incriminating evidence they needed. He had no true intention of slipping away, he somehow convinced himself that what he did would give him enough public support for change (regardless of whether or not that will actually happen).
If there isn’t at least some non-zero amount of tin-snips and turpentine, then the protest is a parade.
Coincidentally, Lowes is having a black friday on tin snips: https://www.lowes.com/pl/hand-tools/cutting-crimping-tools/tin-snips/on-sale/4294857583-2
Turpentine I can understand having for various reasons (lighting shit on fire, removing paint/ink/pepperspray), but what is the need for tin snips? cutting the zip-tie handcuffs used by riot police?
They’re for removing male reproductive organs.
I think they’re for performing the vasectomies as alluded to in the second panel. I assumed the turps is for make-shift antiseptic.
OP just made it sound like they are needed for any type of protest or demonstration, so I assumed they had use beyond just reproductive rights marches. Plus, turpentine can be used as an antiseptic, but there are lots of less conspicuous antiseptics available.
I like your answer, too, though.
Know how many times you’ll find yourself out and about and suddenly needing to perform an emergency, involuntary vasectomy and then discover you left your tin snips and turpentine at home?
Only once. You only make that mistake once. Keep it in your daily carry.
Let’s say Jewelry making… I feel like that’s plausible?
I should buy some jewelry making paraphernalia … for reasons.
Welders are great for jewelry making
Yeah, I would think bolt cutters would be more useful.
Nah but rubber bands are effective
We did to cattle growing up.
Their nuts just fall off.
Yeah, meanwhile I’ve used bolt cutters more than most people (anarchism got me doing bicycle repair and salvaging which involves them front time to time), and they work by leveraging the stiffness. They aren’t actually sharp, they’re just dull scissors with a fuck ton of leverage
Yeah, the harder the steel the better bolt cutters work.
They suck with a real mild steel.
sheep, too.
The sheep fall off the cattle?
bollocks!
their balls fall off. the rubber bands. on sheep.
harder to carry and conceal, though.
But they do make a good melee weapon in a pinch
Cutting holes in fences, as in trespassing to vandalize or cause havoc.
I wouldn’t mind some tin snips and turpentine
Whats so confusing is how conservatives can say “don’t tread on me” then vote to ban abortion
or “join or die” then say ‘violence is never the answer’I just want that snake. Is that some iconography I’ve missed? I have the rainbow gadsen on my range bag I want that one as well.
Is her last name pronounced le- snake?
I was genuinely confused there, since I thought it was something that only conservatives used. Thanks for this
It used to be a thing for all libertarians not just the right wingers claiming to be them and eventually the conservatives and fascists. Nowadays left libertarians tread where we please.
It’s amazing how many Gadsden flags are next to Thin Blue Line flags.
“Don’t tread on me, unless you’re in the group of people who can kill citizens with impunity, then you do what you want because I’ve no critical thinking skills.”
“one day I’ll own this boot”
It’s okay if they’re treading on other people. The Thin Blue Line folks will 100% attack cops if they stood in their way. (See Jan. 6th)
“I’m gonna mess with Texas” haha
noooo it’s an anti-littering campaign and last time I was anywhere but austin in the state, hoo boy the litter.
Tin snips?
Yeah, metal shears with a nice long handle to make cutting through hardened objects more easily.
And wouldn’t you know it but turpentine is an antiseptic and pain reliever…
I still don’t get it. My metal shears don’t open enough for anything but sheet metal, and they’re definitely not suitable for anything hardened. I get the feeling that the reference is about using them on people, but I don’t understand how.
The comic is about women’s reproductive rights and how righties want to take that away from them. The woman is suggesting the same be done to men, using the tools she mentions, with turpentine being the disinfectant.
Ok I think I get the idea… But even with me, who is definitely not well endowed, metal shears would take quite the effort. Giving me more of an opportunity to attempt to hinder the impromptu castration… Wait are we talking taking of the ball sack? Still, box cutters would be more efficient.
You’d need to talk to the creator of the comic for more clarification, I can only present what I see.
You ever heard of the snip? Because that’s what I think they’re hinting at.
Ok, so what’s with the turpentine?
Or tinships? My only guess is castration and cauterizing the wound, but that’s an extreme shot in the dark.
It was a pretty crude way to castrate. It was done that way a few hundred years back. I’ve heard that expression before. The first time was when I was really young. The tin snips were very sharp the and the turpentine sealed the wound by chemically burning the flesh. I’m pretty sure its what they did to some pigs when I was very young. I know the pigs made a lot of noise.
Well I’m not expert - the only thing I’ve ever read about castrating pigs was in some novel in high school where a guy’s job was to tie the testicles off with string or twine and presumably after a while they fell off. Seemed pretty cringey to us all at the time.
I’ve heard they use elastic or rubber bands nowadays (at least for steer), but the family sold the dairy like 30 years ago so I’ve been out of the loop a while.
Know who else wishes they were out of the loop? Those bulls lol.
Not for this comic it isn’t.
Pretty sure that’s what it was referring to based on another comment. Also it being used to burn down buildings.
Burning shit down to the ground. There have been many attacks on abortion clinics that included attempts and/or successful burning.
Gotcha. Didn’t know that’s what it was used for.
Why does she want to go and litter in Texas?
shithole state with shithole laws and shithole lawmakers. what’s confusing?
I just moved here and you’re not wrong. All the roads are fucked up, even in the suburbs. Everything just feels cheaper than Virginia.
The license plates aren’t even stamped, just a coat of paint lol. Major roads are just filled with potholes forever.
Went to a shooting range and they got mad at me for shooting too fast. Like what is the benefit of being here??? I thought you guys were free?
I just moved here for cost of living but partially regretting it
I miss the food. I miss some of the people. but it’s gotten worse every year for 2 decades.
hope you don’t have wives, daughters or mom’s in your family. just living in texas is a potential death penalty by sepsis, literally one of the most painful ways to die.
I don’t get it. This guy was shooting doctors? Why? Is there a second page to the comic?
I believe they’re referencing Dr. George Tiller.
What about the turpentine reference?
I don’t get it either. isn’t turpentine just a paint thinner, sometimes used in mixes to make varnishes or clean furniture? smells awful.
I think it’s because turpentine is associated with DIY abortion and maybe slavery. Men “fixing” women and the women having to “unfix” themselves. Using different solutions to induce abortion.
The tin snips and vasectomies is a decent clue.
Isn’t it also highly flammable? My first thought with the comic was it would be used for arson.
The Devils Panties tends to use that character to depict an amalgamation of Gamergate, Rapist Brock Allen Turner, Kyle Rittenhouse, and every online debatebro combined, and so the other characters are written to react to him in such a way.
Looks a little too clean cut for Gamer Brock Rittenhouse or a debate bro, seems more like a Christian frat type.
Can we talk about how the amount of anti abortion women and anti abortion men is about equal?
Sure, that doesn’t seem to be true?
Gallup found the following:
- Pro-life: Men 49%, Women 33%
- Pro-choice: Men 45%, Women 63%
Women are also more in favour of less restrictions on abortion (e.g. from X weeks) than men.

What’s so bad about men from New Mexico?
Ah, yes, the pinnacle of masculinity: whining that people fighting for their survival and freedom didn’t pay enough care to the feelings of people who didn’t think their struggle was all that big of a deal in the first place.
Maybe if you weren’t out to spite the people who you believe have beef with you specifically, you’d realize that the struggle against patriarchy benefits men as well, but you’d have to recognize that there are plenty of men that are specifically marginalized by those that up hold their preferred version of masculinity is the only valid way to be a man.
Or, you could skip all that and blame it all on women hating men because some depiction of a woman said something mean to a depiction of a disrespectful man and take it to have meant you specifically, I guess.

Why are you ranking genders? Did you spend time under the impression that men were the better gender? Can you even see how fucked it is to relegate an entire gender as second class? If you bought into the idea that women were somehow less than you by mere virtue of being women, can you not see how they might bear some justified disdain for you specifically?
No, I don’t see men as a “lesser” gender, I don’t see women as “lesser”, either. They are simply different ways of experiencing the world, and the near coin flip odds of what the doctor will say when they check your genitals for the first time isn’t gonna be the way that I determine who are worthwhile people.
There’s more to masculinity and manhood than fitting the awful mold that the hegemonic powers have set out for us. If you stop trying to “win at gender”, or whathaveyou, maybe you can become the sort of man that doesn’t take gender as a zero-sum game
I never thought women were lesser. I thought we were equil. But now I see men are inherently shit.
Am I blaming women? News to me.
Why don’t you give us proper grammar?
Edit: username makes sense.
I actually agree with you. Men did a terrible job of things, and now we have to deal with the patriarchy. Movements like 4B have been a long time coming, but I worry that men as a whole aren’t mature enough to clean up their act. Time will tell.

When your existence makes half the people in the world uncomfortable you are kind of a dick for living.
Check the skin tone and age cohort. You’re going to find some large discrepancies. Also skews heavily by education, as women early in their collegiate or professional careers tend to be significantly more sensitive about the prospect of getting pregnant than peers in low-paying jobs with little upward mobility.
There’s definitely a profile of a pro-abortion and anti-abortion voter.
Who’s “you” here?
Anti-abortionists?
It’s not really clear that he’s against abortion though eh. He just looks like an ill-informed passerby.
If she thinks that guy is a terrorist she should report it to the police.
Hi police I’d like to report the police
This will surely change people’s minds!
Funny how quickly peoples’ minds change when there’s the credible threat of reprisal.
Is that even a thing? It’s got truthiness, but I’m wondering if it’s actually true.
If you believe women are lesser creatures whose bodies you control, what would change your mind about that?
Very little, I imagine.
Too late for that.
It’s time to encourage effective defense.
Internet comics ought to do it!
If that were the goal, then this would be stupid. Clearly, it isn’t.
Why is America so fucked up on both sides?
“leave it at protests” as if they aren’t already mass murdering children
Unsure is /s, but doesn’t seem like it.
Reproductive health advocates are not mass murdering children. You’re thinking of guns, drugs, and cars if you are in the USA, cancer and other genetic defects if in the UK.
All of those things are mass murdering children
We get it, you don’t have any scientific knowledge and only go by what religion “says”
The Bible is pro abortion anyway so they have nothing
Exactly. That’s what makes their attempts to argue so ridiculous.
Scientific knowledge shows that a foetus is a life
Scientific knowledge shows that a fetus is a lump of cells with no more consciousness than an amoeba that can’t exist without the host which makes it closer to a parasite. That’s not a baby or a person. You need to actually be able to understand more than a one sentence statement to grasp the vast majority of scientific knowledge.
Source?
That isn’t relevant, though.
The word you are looking for is ‘fetuses’.
K. I’m going to get back to work for my company that is mass murdering children by lowering employee reproductive health. (/s)
Your taxes may also go towards murdering kids, whether it be state funded abortions or bombing Gaza
Those two examples are wildly different from eachother. One is a medical procedure involving theoretical children, and the other has real kids getting injured and killed.
Edit: wanted to add that the medical procedure is always to prevent a major health issue when being funded by state taxes.
Whenever the israelis bomb the buildings, they don’t know for certain there are kids in there. They are just theoretical kids in the moment to them.
More like, Schrodinger’s kids. I genuinely hope you find peace and learn to not let being pro-birth justify letting others suffer and/or die. Red tape and bans kill when it comes to healthcare, without solving anything.
Got it I’ll just stop paying my taxes that’ll fix everything
What about when they carefully aim and shoot a child?
I prefer to go by what the Bible says. Which is that abortion is just fine and God even performs them!

But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband”— 21 here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the Lord cause you to become a curse[b] among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22 May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.”
“‘Then the woman is to say, “Amen. So be it.”
23 “‘The priest is to write these curses on a scroll and then wash them off into the bitter water. 24 He shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and this water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering will enter her. 25 The priest is to take from her hands the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the Lord and bring it to the altar. 26 The priest is then to take a handful of the grain offering as a memorial[c] offering and burn it on the altar; after that, he is to have the woman drink the water. 27 If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. 28 If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children.
That’s about infertility. The NIV isn’t a very good translation and focuses less on what the text actually says and easy readability. A more accurate translation is the NRSV (although the ESV or even the KJV doesn’t make this mistake- although it depends on whether you want to translate “thigh” as “womb” or literally render it, as thigh is a euphemism. However, the word “miscarry” in the sense that we understand it is not there)
[27] When he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and has been unfaithful to her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her womb shall discharge, her uterus drop, and the woman shall become an execration among her people. [28] But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, then she shall be immune and be able to conceive children.
Verse 28 says “be able to conceive children”. It’s quite clear that she wasn’t already pregnant at this point.
Dude what, no, it’s saying hey if you’re not preggers you can still make a baby. If you’ve “defiled [your]self” then you’re gonna have an abortion when you drink that water. Very explicitly that’s what is being communicated through the text.
Dancing around translations is just some hand waving bullshit, also maybe we should consider the text isn’t some infallible word of God when you’re saying a different translation changes the meaning of passages. Just as an aside.
I just picked the first translation the Google search gave. Feel free to read your same thing phrased some other way in another translation.
Besides that is the only thing the Bible actually says about abortion. The anti abortion stuff is a very modern thing.
Defiled yourself via committing adultery.
You can translate anything terribly, doesn’t discount the original work.
It’s always endlessly fascinating to me how “fundamentalists” think God speaks in metaphor only when it’s convenient for them personally.
Elaborate why you’re saying that and what you mean?
That’s not up to you. All scripture is God breathed. Are you saying that God would allow his one and only true word to be mistranslated so poorly? Shame on you.
It is obviously both. A woman could be pregnant or not and the same thing would happen either forcing a miscarriage (aka an abortion) or become infertile. There is no where that indicates the woman’s current state of pregnancy or lack thereof so it must be both.
That’s not up to you. All scripture is God breathed. Are you saying that God would allow his one and only true word to be mistranslated so poorly? Shame on you.
There are several examples of mistranslations happening in major bible translations. Having this superstitious view about it being impossible to do a bad translation of the Bible is completely rubbish.
It says that she shall be free to conceive. How can you be free to conceive if you’re pregnant? You cannot conceive a child when pregnant. This scripture cannot be used in any way to justify abortion. You started on a poor translation of it from a disreputable translation (The NIV, often nicknamed the “Not Inspired Version”) and are now clutching at straws because I pointed out that it was clearly incorrect.
Drama queen
it takes balls to post stuff like that on Lemmy, and I commend you for it. also, I agree with you. so there’s that.
We get it. You like balls
Gargle gargle nothing gargle wrong with that
in a world where most people don’t have them, yes. yes I do.
Having such a vulnerable weak point be both easily accessible and unprotected is a design flaw.
somebody thinks movies are real life. have you ever tried to kick somebody in the balls? its not actually that easy, and its not actually that vulnerable. there’s a reason all the wars of human history haven’t just been giant crotch-kicking competitions lmfao. If it was that simple, men would not be the warriors.
On the flip side, you could say being smaller and weaker (as all women are) is a design flaw. Oh how the tables have turned my impulsively naive friend.
Wtf? Lol
Well when they are as small as yours, it becomes really hard to hit that target with a kick.
exactly. women on the other hand have higher obesity rates than men, too. so they’re much bigger targets. endless design flaws, really.
It takes 0 balls to post a criticized opinion on an anonymous forum
But yeah no go off on praising your poor little persecuted ally, they’re such a martyr
you just proved why it takes balls.
Again: it doesn’t take balls to post at all to an anonymous forum
Keep reaching for that victim complex you so desperately crave
it totally takes balls. and people like you are the reason why.
It doesn’t take balls to comment anonymously, you’re at 0 risk of anything other then getting your feelings hurt
So I mean… I guess it takes tiny, tiny, insignificant balls to ignore what people you don’t care about think
of course it does, you risk people finding out who you are and doxxing you. that’s why people are anonymous in the first place: because its inherently risky to post controversial stuff on the internet.
A man is being a bit sarcastic and the angry feminist protester is threatening to mutilate his genitals?
No wonder Trump and Abbott won.
Yeah, it’s not cool to threaten someone’s genitals and remove their agency in what happens to them. Congratulations, you are currently standing on The Point.
Random dude being sarcastic isn’t doing that. Focus the anger on the actual problems.
Random dude is being sarcastic unprompted about someone fighting for a personal freedom. He is an asshole and an immediate problem.
cant you read the content?
If this person got educated in Texas, very possibly they cannot.
If you think it’s just one man being a little sarcastic then you need to open your eyes to the stripping of bodily autonomy going on all over the place.
Hmm yeah it’s almost like we shouldn’t tell a person what to be doing with their body…. Wooosh
That isn’t a man, it’s a conservative. Less than a bug.
And clearly a boomer, if they remember the Summer of Love.
facts.
