Huh. Actually felt strong on my 5k run. Considering I’m about 20 kg overweight, I’ve gotta say I’m pretty happy with that.

Oooh. First prospective buyer who came through today is very keen and is coming back with his wife Saturday afternoon. AND the house they’re renting is being sold so he needs to find a place fast.
Fingers crossed for a good outcome and a good offer!

It is a lovely morning out there, it made for a very pleasant morning walk. Mr Woof enjoyed himself, and wanted to do all the side quests. Mostly they were quick follow-the-scent quests, but I had to put my foot down when he wanted to follow the shady character in a hoodie, I’m pretty sure that one would open up a long quest chain we just don’t have time for.

Note to self: I might be spending too much time playing video games…

I turned the portable heater on, because I’m shivering, and the motor that makes it turn side to side caught fire. Turned it off quicksmart, but I didn’t have ‘electrical fire’ on my bingo card for today.

Serves me right for buying Anko brand shit from Kmart 🤦‍♀️

Edit: also went to the pharmacy for a medical cert, and the pharmacist gave me original Codral with the 30mg of Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride (instead of what it is now, with 5mg of Phenylephrine Hydrochloride). Noice!

Wish I could get the real stuff. The fake gives me such insomnia it’s not even worth attempting.

I’m a Goth. This tends to come with some highly inaccurate assumptions about my drug use that asking nicely doesn’t work

Hell yeah Codral Original formula is all I accept and the only one which works for me. You just have to ask for it and show your ID generally. Codral Original makes sick Bull go ni nighs.

I started a new exercise plan today, this time it’s a 30 day fat burner. I think the trouble I had motivating for the last program was that the sessions started out at 8 minutes or so but got progressively longer to about 18 to 20 minutes or so. Which is much harder to carve out of a busy morning. Also my core wasn’t very strong to start with and I hate tummy exercises! These ones are more intense and shorter so much easier to fit in. Day 1 completed.

“Jimmy Giggle” is driving my bus again today!

CBFs hitting suuuuper hard today, unsurprisingly. I decided before I start whinging here about what I don’t want to do, I’ll swallow some small frogs. Lodged a complaint/refund request about my air purifier not arriving so that’s one huge headache addressed for now. Rice is cooked for the belated tinned fish celebration. Yay.

Trying to feel better by celebrating the garden…

    photos and shit

The snow pea forest is thriving and fruiting, yay! I know it’d be better if they were spaced further apart, but I’m very happy with having found this position and this planter box. Come at me delicious fresh pods!

Lil jasmine plant I bought a year ago has flowered nicely and smells gorgeous - I hope it brings a smile to everyone passing by. Some day when I move I’ll have to untwine it and prune off what I can’t untwine and hope it survives. I think they’re quite resilient, it should be okay?

And finally my rocoto chilli is already (!) putting out new flowers. I suspect it’s a little confused. Will need to find a new spot for it when it becomes more reliably warm. Need to harvest the chillos for some experimentation and maybe try and save some seeds??

But also, just as much as I see the good, I also see sooo much maintenance I need to tackle before I head off again in two weeks - repotting, pruning, pulling out dead plants - and I feel blah again even though I normally don’t mind doing it and feel productive.

    And work… ugh… no… sads…

      Looking good!

I’d say jasmine would be one of the more resilient things I have in the garden keeps growing into and strangling shit this time of year. I go at it pretty heavily just to give the other stuff a chance. Always bounces back. It’s probably 40+ yrs old.

Yeah true, I’ve seen them take down entire fences. I’m conscious that this little one is still small/young but it’s also been doing p well so don’t think I need to worry about vigour when I do prune it - would likely be after the flowering season and heading into winter.

it’s currently growing in a deep but narrow tree seedling pot and doesn’t seem rootbound, I’ll maybe repot it in another year’s time depending on where I end up.

Yeah it was sad because I only remembered to eat at like 1pm and was ashamed at myself for being so self sabotaging. I chopped up some garden coriander to go with it though so it did look nice.

I’ve found a laundromat near my place which is handy because I can bring stuff here to dry which was a pain to dry before. I could have always driven to one but I never thought to. This one is convenient AND has the most modern payment system I’ve ever seen at a laundromat which excites me. It’s also on the pricier side compared to other places around the world because we get reamed in Australia.

Of course, my first day off and I can’t even sleep in… especially when I stayed up until 3am.

Anyways, hello everyone, I hope you’re well!

Jeez today has been a day.

Reminds of a quote my gramps said (in a very thick scottish accent many moons ago). He was a wheat / sheep farmer in WA and ended up looking after pigs for the CSIRO in retirement.

With a straight face “Aye the more I get to know me pigs, the less I like people”. I was too young to understand it but it all makes sense now.
