With USAID gone and the Tiktok/Rednote debacle, how long will the anti-China narrative hold up for?
Among those who actually use Xiaohongshu, probably won’t last all that long. I have seen an in rush of MAGA chuds but they’re pretty quickly drowned out (also, the platform actually decently moderates and I’ve seen plenty of people cop a ban when their rude AF comment gets reported as being unfriendly or being misinformation).
And I expect we’ll see secondary effects too, cause people using XHS will be talking to their friends and show them stuff about what life is really like in China. I imagine there’s going to be a lot of positive coming out of all this.
