Saaaame here. Struggled all through school until I got to college where I did really well as long as I had a structure that agreed with me. A lack of it bit me in the ass come thesis though. Took ages.

Because they’re perfectionists about their work and the way they cope with the anxiety is by abandoning the projects and burying themselves in their phones all day.

That’s horrible… especially since we’re learning that social media is a blackhole of despair/depression and anxiety amongst children, teens, and young adults.

Algoritmes prey on our flaws and weaknesses, this is surprising to no one anno 2024 though.

That doesn’t suddenly make everyone immune though. The attention grip is super powerful.

But also, as I’m learning, not engaging with social media basically makes you invisible to a majority of social circles.

I tell people I’m an artist and they’re shocked I don’t have Instagram. “Yeah it sucks my attention away and traps me in doomscrolling. I’m on like, Signal and Discord tho!”

          Awkward look annnd ghosted. Lol.

Being on predatory platforms sucks away your time and soul. (I remember twitter loved showing me stuff it knew would bother me.)

…but that’s where all the people are. What a concept.
