Full episode from the official YouTube channel for The Daily Show.
Goddamn that was good. I had forgotten what an actually good political late night show was like.
Why do you hate the pūteketeke?
Nice to see him back, never thought he would return.
Previous record… By 4 years!!!
Absolutely watching this, the man is a legend.
I forgot how short they were. Watched at 2× speed, granted, but it was over in a flash.
Still, it was good. As a Canadian, it will be nice to have a succinct, entertaining summary of America’s descent into fascism. (I’m not feeling very hopeful, can you tell?)
Wow! Had no idea he was already on the air.
This isn’t the full episode. It’s just his opening monologue. The full episode has more interaction with the news team and an interview.
does he touch in the genocide?
Which one?
- Chinese of Uyghur’s
- Israeli’s of Palestinian’s
- Russian of Ukrainian’s
I’m sure I’ve missed some others too.
Myanmar Rohingya genocide
I mean the one thats currently being tried in the ICJ (Palestine)
What China is doing constitutes severe human rights abuses, including arbitrary arrests and reported destruction of shrines and mosques. It includes reported torture and violence, but it’s not a genocide. It’s done under the guise of anti terrorism and anti extremism.

Yes. You’re right. It’s pretty close, though, and “genocide” is handier than a drawn-out, nuanced description for which there isn’t a convenient term. Abusing the word “genocide” is little worse than using the extremely broad and easily downplayed “human rights abuses.” The latter is as equally appropriate to US police treatment of minorities as to China’s treatment of the Uyghurs, but you’d agree they’re vastly different in scale and scope, right?
Very briefly, but he says he may cover it in a future episode
