Nah, just issue bonds. Surely this suburban development pattern will be profitable enough to pay back your debts in a couple of decades

Case in point: This post
NG may actually be just as bad or worse. Methane amplifies the greenhouse effect (IIRC) 4x as much as CO2 per unit volume emitted, and it’s much harder to track the emissions of the NG industry because most of it comes from methane leaks. The FF industry loves NG for that exact reason. If you are leaking an odourless gas, you don’t need to report what you can’t possibly track. So the self-reported emissions numbers look way better than they probably actually are.
The only animal that doesn’t have to worry about catching crabs at the orgy
The way I read this: Kid climbed onto a bridge to kill himself, cops showed up to talk him down but were unable to convince him and he jumped. Why did you post this exactly? What’s the point here?
people still read about and rave over Lovecraft’s work and he was so racist that the other racists of his time used to tell him to chill.
I’ve heard he did actually chill in his later years
My dumbass was hoping an e-rickshaw was a cart that’s pulled by one of those Boston Dynamics bipedal robots
Imagine you had never seen a crab before. Then someone shows you a picture of a true crab and says “this is a crab”. Now imagine after that you are shown a horseshoe crab. There’s no way you would think that’s also a crab.
Does this allow you to bulldoze poor/minority neighborhoods in order to build a new highway? If I’m gonna parking lot sim, I want to be able to fully RP as Robert Moses
Weirdly this is basically how refrigerators worked before refrigeration was invented.
An anachronism because there aren’t still powerful forces in America trying to witch hunt people with left-leaning ideas?
If you think about it, Netflix doesn’t get paid by the view, they get paid by the subscription. So the ideal Netflix show is one which is desirable enough to draw in and retain subscribers while being cheap to produce. Whether or not people actually watch the show is irrelevant to them. If it gets people in the door it’s a winner.
Gboard used to be flawless for swipe typing, but in the last year or so I’ve noticed the autocorrect become far less reliable and actually prone to replacing the word I wanted with something else. They must have made some change within the last couple of years.
Reminds me of Works on Contingency No Money Down
I like that everyone thinks it makes a difference whether or not this is a feature, when in reality people have a tendency to carve a desire path to anything they feel makes sense. Twitter may not have a downvote but they do have the “ratio” which does basically the same thing using the mechanics of Twitter.
Yeah as someone who works in IT in the government I have to agree with that assessment.
Idk about “more arrivecan-like debacles likely”, but we do basically everything in the dumbest possible way when it comes to IT procurement and project management.
Though I would have said “more Phoenix-like debacles likely” since that was more about the project oversight being a shitshow and less about there being some kind of cronyism involved.
That’s extremely fucked up.
Edit: maybe the ctrl-f didn’t work because the article loads in as you scroll down? The excerpt I copied was from the very bottom of the article.
the Treaty of Ghent did not resolve the issues that had caused the war, but at that point Britain was too weary to win it, and the U.S. government deemed not losing it a tolerable substitute for victory. Nevertheless, many Americans became convinced that they had won the contest.
Did you read a different article from me? This one seemed pretty blunt on the subject of whether or not America won. It says the US chose to tolerate a white peace since they couldn’t win, yet many Americans delude themselves into calling it a victory. TBF though I just skimmed it and jumped to the end.
Also, the battle of New Orleans shouldn’t really be considered when deciding who won the war. The peace treaty had already been signed when the battle began.
I just picked up and started playing Brütal Legend. It’s pretty fun. If you are a fan of Tenacious D or anything else Jack Black has done you will probably enjoy it. It’s basically an Isekai story where you play as JB in a fantasy world inspired by heavy metal aesthetics.
During which time he advised Canada’s grocery cartel to fix the price of bread, leading to decades of overcharging. The punishment for this? The government let the grocery stores issue a free gift card for their stores to every customer. Yes, you read that right! The punishment for price fixing and collusion was to run a marketing campaign.
Thanks, Mayor “Mayo Rat” Pete!
