I feel like this place is full of crazy demons like that. And I’ve been engaging too much.

I think this is an inherent weakness of large scale social media. It gives the small percentage of the population that happens to be angry children, crazies, etc, access to everybody else. And then they run the whole show. It exposes us to this vast population of demons.

I think that small scale social media is the way to go.

I will now leave you demons to do whatever it is you do when you can’t find a dissenting opinion to dogpile.

Actually yes. When there are a couple thousand independent farmers in my state alone, and anybody can plant a garden (and growing food isn’t a much of secret scientific mystery either). It rather kills monopolies.

Actually, there are so many food producers. Locally, globally and everything in between, that getting stuck buying food from an inscrutable priesthood with a monopoly on food really isn’t a problem.

I’d say there’s a big difference.

The relevant medical science is obscured behind a veil of esoterica and complexity (not to mention patent law). That other stuff, not so much.

Thus in the case of the former we are forced to rely upon an inscrutable priesthood.

Whereas the latter, not so much.

I think you must be pretty short to be resorting to all the low-hanging fruit like this.

It is my experience that this is the case with every one of these echo chambers. Whatever the dogma. They are all rabidly censorous.

Liberalism does seem to be the most popular tho. And by liberalism I mean a bigger echo chamber.

I thought that Reddit was a hivemind, ruthlessly crushing any opinion that deviates from the social media mainstream (which seems to be of the liberal genre). But Lemmy might actually be worse.

Speaking as an apolitical artsy type, the conservatives worship Tyrannosaurus Rex and the liberals worship Hivemind.

My longtime gf (we live together) has been petsitting for these wealthy clients (old friends) for 4 years.

Same dog, whole life of dog. (Medium sized German shepherd, white, highstrung)

Gf tells me that clients are getting rid of dog. That either we adopt the dog or clients will have it killed.

They have several conversations about this.

I ask to join the conversation, seeing as how it’s my house and life that will be greatly affected here.

Gf refuses.

Bring it up with clients. Clients blow me off.

3 weeks later we have a new dog.

I feel like a doormat. And the clients totally bullied my gf into this. But I’m the bad guy if I bring it up in conversation to gf or clients.
