Donald Trump on Wednesday called for the imprisonment of Brandon Johnson, Chicago’s mayor, and JB Pritzker, the Illinois governor, accusing them of failing to protect US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) officers.
“Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday morning. “Governor Pritzker also!”
Both Johnson and Pritzker are Democrats.
Why would the mayor be responsible for protecting federal officers? Shouldn’t they be able to protect themselves? Seems like a poorly planned mission if they were hoping the local police would able to protect them. Also, they should have coordinated with local police if that was the plan.
It’s literally illegal for them to help the feds with fed shit, per state law.
Put the whole damn state in jail!!!

Worse yet, ICE called in a complaint of reporters tampering with the lock to an ICE detention facility. They were just reporters. Wasting Chicago’s resources.
They also pepper sprayed multiple CPD officers.
If they wanted help, maybe don’t pepper spray the people you want to help you. I know I wouldn’t respond to their calls knowing they could start throwing pepper spray grenades with no warning.

The federal officers have ACTUAL assault rifles in a city where most don’t carry.
What do they need protection from? They have the weapons…is that not, uh, protection?
Classic “both weak and strong” tactic. So weak they need the feds to protect them. So strong that it’s a crime that they’re not protecting the feds.
