  • I’ve been looking into plastic-free alternatives to the Aeropress. I haven’t found any so far. I didn’t find this though it seems better designed than the ethoz that comes with a fragile glass erlenmeyer flask. Both have plastic pressure brewing chambers though.

This obviously uses a plastic pressure brewing chamber, but it looks like it would be relatively simple to have a replacement “water chamber” in stainless steel for a few dollars more.

Question: To set up for another brew, in order to put the water chamber back into its original place, do you have to twist it back into the cup, or twist it back through the orange gripped ring?

If so, then that’s 2 sets of twisting for every cup of coffee.

Question 2: Have you timed yourself on how long it takes to twist/extract the brew?

  • It’s been there for a long time, but the kanji character on Terryman’s forehead is “米” which means rice.

The USA is formally written as “米国” pronounced as “mikoku” in Japanese, literally meaning “rice country”. Although most anime characters refer the USA from the katakana “foreign word” アメリカ “America”

Therefore the “米” marks Terryman as an American. Also his trademark cowboy hat, as if all that wasn’t obvious enough.

p.s. This week’s episode is actually episode 1.

Last week was episode 0, a recap, although there’s plenty of original art, mostly of various “good” chojin standing around watching KM and Terryman spar, reminiscing about previous events.

A new set of themed villains literally falls from the sky to challenge Kinnikuman and friends.

They look like Fighter D could have made them up…

  • The old cartoons, such as Looney Tunes, Disney, and Fleischer, from the 1930s to 50s used to have orchestra soundtracks.

They were made to be played between movies in theaters, and were targeted towards adult audiences, which is why they were so good.

The cartoon animals in the foreground are drawn in the style of Fleischer or Disney cartoony animals. Fleischer art examples https://trettleman.medium.com/the-talkartoons-ranked-767155266860

A more recent work that uses that era’s cartoon aesthetic are the Cuphead videogames https://store.steampowered.com/app/268910/Cuphead/

That era’s aesthetic can be strange and surreal at times, almost psychedelic.

So maybe the musician on the comic panel is feeling uncomfortable with playing this kind of gig due to the strange atmosphere, even though as any working class professional musician should say, any paying gig is good.

  • I can’t say that I’m liking this so far: Killing the apparent MC in the first episode was fine, but just bringing everyone back just as easily?

And killing the random guy who was looking at the screen was weird, and threw into doubt any understanding of the “rules” such as they are.

What kind of bs is this?

The character designs resemble “Lucifer And The Biscuit Hammer” and for some reason this show’s atmosphere reminds me of that as well. The manga sources are not by the same author. Nor is it the same anime director. Weird.

Right of Rejection is way OP.
