I made my first vegan pizza as I described and while I felt it was a success ingredient-wise, I had some trouble with my oven (it’s small, has a hard time heating up to pizza temperatures) that resulted in the crust not being very good. It was a learning experience with my oven. I think my second vegan pizza run will be better :)

From talk radio to the New York Times, many legacy media companies are (not so) subtly pivoting from journalism to infotainment that is designed to push the agenda of billionaire owners and get clicks and targeted advertising revenue. They also want to have their cake and eat it too though: to have no accountability for journalistic standards yet maintain their historic cache in news spaces.
Coverage of Palestine in the the last year, the US presidential election (Biden vs Trump), and the capital gains tax in Canada a couple months ago (that only applies to the <1% wealthiest Canadians) have all clearly exemplified this. I also recognize differences in true majority opinions on these matters and the ostensible status quos that the media outlets try to portray on how Canadians, Americans, or people in general feel about these issues. Propaganda is a strong word, and boy we’re trending in that direction
Legumes are wonderful! I used canned chickpeas, black beans, and canellini beans; I use dried lentils. I rinse them all and soak none. This is anecdotal, but I’ve never heard someone on a plant-based diet say they feel bloated or gas-y
Are tubers a nutritional group or just a plant group? I find fruit (sweet, vitamins), vegetables (vitamins, fibre), grains (meal bulk, protein), and legumes (protein) useful nutritional groupings, but I don’t distinguish between vegetables and tubers - that’s the gist of my question. Soybeans are an odd omission, although I realize their 5-6-item lists at the top aren’t comprehensive
I hear you. The minimization/exclusion of oils in a whole-food plant-based (WFPB) diet is not something that all WFPB people agree with. The author of Forks Over Knives is known for it though
