  • You can’t get it multiple times from the same partner unless it’s hsv-1,and even then it’s rare after you’ve built up a resistance to the virus and they’d need to be in an active outbreak.

    But yes, you can migrate the location of hsv1, the most common herpes type (incorrectly referred to as oral herpes). You want to be especially careful if it migrates to your facial area beyond your mouth/lips as occular herpes can cause blindness, and if it spreads to your nose and brain, there’s a real chance you could die.

    These are rare in first world countries though and are typically seen in places without access to clean water and sanitation.
