I love X! (not that one) and I love reading this!

Beyond children’s stuff, and entry-tier Ghibli films, I think K-On! was one of the first anime I actually watched. I’m not really sure what I thought of it, certainly don’t recall much about it. Probably took an interest in Japanese media more from manga than anime; yuri like Morinaga’s Girl Friends helped me realise I was bisexual.

But to focus back on anime, Nichijou is probably what made me realise anime could be worth my time beyond the odd film, that made me smile on a lot of otherwise dark days. And on the opposite side of things, I’d probably attribute Madoka and NGE with teaching me the value that anime could hold as ‘art’. (I’m a sucker for an effective deconstruction of a genre.)

I imagine in this case there’s a little more to it, namely that incumbent presidents overwhelmingly win a second term. The last time a sitting President failed to do so prior to Trump was all the way bac in 1993.

I don’t like Biden, hell, I don’t like electoral politics; but it’s probably wise in a party-political sense.

Signing up is just having an instagram account and opting to check it out, so I’m not sure the numbers are very meaningful yet.

Right to repair is a thing in Europe now (https://www.apple.com/uk/newsroom/2022/12/apple-launches-self-service-repair-in-europe/), though I’ve heard complaints about how it’s conducted.

I understand people’s attachment to their community, but if even a significant minority of those who went dark mass resigned on the 30th, it would’ve had so much bigger an impact than any of the ongoing attempts at protest.

They seem to have believed he was just attempting to win over Trump supporters for the nomination; but trying to outdo someone who, to a large degree, sets the agenda for what their base supports and cares about seems blatantly fruitless and silly, to phrase it kindly.

(Now he’s failed to secure that support and alienated the people who liked him for not being Trump, lol. Poetic in a way.)

Sadly the pickme mindset is not limited to gender.
