World News@lemmy.world•Israel just quintupled its PR budget to $730 million; experts say it won’t workEnglish
11·26 days agoEvery time an election comes up though, everyone is like “we need to vote for the democrats because third party/not voting is ‘a vote for the republicans’” and sadly I have to admit due to how first past the post elections work they do have a point. So any individual voting for anything other than a democrat (or not voting) makes it less likely the democrats win and more likely republicans win, and they’re by far the worse option (and still pro Israel).
Maybe Israel’s propaganda is to dissuade people from voting for anti-Israel politicians in the primaries and the like, rather than directly make them look good.

World News@lemmy.world•Israel just quintupled its PR budget to $730 million; experts say it won’t workEnglish
13·26 days agoIs this budget for convincing the general public to support them, or convincing US politicians? Because if it’s the former I don’t see it working or anyone believing the lies. Bloomberg tried something similar to get into the democratic primary and I’m pretty sure he failed spectacularly.
But I’d bet it’s the latter, and I let buying US politicians will continue to be successful. Because if both republicans and democrats support Israel, even if the public hates them who else is there to vote for?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•For those of you with a living room or multiple rooms; do you have a TV in your bedroom? Why or why not?English
3·2 months agoI have a TV in my bedroom set up specifically for in case I have a friend over and we want to cuddle on the bed and watch stuff. It’s hooked up to my computer for ad-free YouTube but is separate from my regular computer monitor.
My roommates do have a living room TV but I feel weird about cuddling in front of them.
I don’t think people choose has over electric because of a dumb lust for power, I think it’s because many people can’t charge at home (especially with rents going up and cheap landlords unwilling to install chargers), there are more 15+ year old used gas cars, and outdated worries about range (fast charging has gotten better).
