Sure and that’s absolutely awful, those remote areas deserve acess to fast and reliable public transportation as well. Specifically small towns should have commuter rail linking them to the nearest city, infrastructure that prioritizes walking and micro mobility, along with just better infrastructure.
Quite frankly the grand majority of things lost by a lack of car ownership could just as easily be made up by just building better infrastructure

I may be biased but its NYC and specifically Upper Manhattan, I also like Northern Queens and the Bronx (fuck Staten Island) but Upper Manhattan is just my favorite part of this beautiful city. Tbh most optimizations save so little ram thats its impossible to notice, if you have 16gb or hell even 8gb of ram its hard to notice the minuscule amounts saved with a WM especially a Wayland WM such as Sway/Niri and especially Hyperland.
Hyperland is the definition of a tiling WM thats just as heavy if not heavier than KDE (depending on your config)
