Yep. I have a standing desk.
Right? Just getting up and doing something is so important. Whatever works to keep people from being sedentary.
It’s called “the silent killer” for a reason. Maybe you’re just tired lately from working hard, or you’ve been having headaches from eye strain, or maybe your blood pressure is at 170/120 and you’re actually near death.
That’s the shit that scares me. I’ve worked really hard to get my blood pressure way down (currently 110/60) and intend to keep it that way.
The way I see it, every little bit helps. If even a little of the waste heat can be recaptured as electricity for operation, it’s a good thing unless the conversion itself has a higher energy cost, and from what I can tell, that’s not the case with this technique.
I actually gained weight when I first got serious about the gym, and that worried me until my doctor reassured me that I was putting on muscle, not fat. These days, it’s pretty obvious in retrospect.
The real metric I pay attention to is blood pressure. As my dad’s getting older he’s been struggling with blood pressure, and I don’t want that to ever happen to me, so cardio is important.
Not if he can’t get on video. The man’s bizarre hold on his base is all about his verbal delivery. If he has to rely on written messages, he can’t verbally circumvent the higher brain function in his victims and they’re more likely to actually become aware that his messages are gibberish.
Bingo. When my body is healthy, my brain is healthy. When my brain is healthy, my code is better.
This is important to know, but at the same time, the majority of registered members in both parties in Pennsylvania voted for the front-runner, and given his youth (20), the primary was his first election involving presidential candidates.
We need to wait until the facts about him come out. Very little is currently known beyond the party registration and the YouTube gun channel.
Working out. (I do it most weekdays, too).
I work in software, and I’ve seen far too many guys in my industry who are either skinny as a rail and surviving on Cheetos dust, or painfully overweight. Had several co-workers croak unexpectedly, at shockingly young ages.
It’s a real problem in the industry. People simply plop themselves down at their computers and forget to do anything else for an entire day.
I have kids, and refuse to let them lose their dad early, so I hit the gym for an hour in the mornings, at least every other day. I do a mix of cardio and weight training. I also never stay seated for longer than 45 minutes.
Seriously, guys… If you work in the software industry, make a habit of getting up and moving around. It doesn’t actually take much to reap enormous benefits just from staying more active.
That shit was amazingly disgusting. And yeah, Trump gets no sympathy from me. But I won’t call for his death, either. I want him to live a very long time. In prison.
But it shouldn’t be. He shows no signs - cognitively speaking - of being capable of putting something like this together as a stage-managed event, and all of his past stage-managed events have been shitshows because he micromanages everything and he’s incompetent.
Wouldn’t be the first time. Conservatives are conservative up until the moment someone uses freedom from government oversight in a way that hurts or inconveniences them. Then they’re all, “There oughta be a law against blah blah blah” without an iota of self-awareness.
Thank you. And fuck the idiots spouting off with the “staged” nonsense. The time to believe something is staged is when you have evidence that it was.
Any idea if those protests are making any difference? Watching Israel become this has been heartbreaking.
It’s a start.
Then that person is a troll and needs to be banned.
I can easily afford all the stupid shit I’d actually want on $220K/year earnings from interest.
Huh. Not really impressed with the voice acting or the heavy focus on Rorschach for the trailer. He was a main character, not the main character.
Disappointing.
For me, the main reason to be excited is that this looks like it’s going to be the most faithful possible adaptation. The movie was decent but flawed, and necessarily had to cut out and change a lot. It wouldn’t have worked at all to try to cram a completely faithful adaptation into a regular movie. The motion comic is just the comic with simple animations added.
A cartoon that tries to stick to Alan Moore’s original concepts and story is pretty compelling.
That’s a problem for future CEO John Q. Moneybags. Present CEO John Q. Moneybags just improved this quarter’s financials, and is already planning his golden-parachute retirement before becoming future Mr. Moneybags.
