According to Wikipedia: “One of the reasons why adults emerge in winter seems to be the absence of predators.” Another reason seems to be reproduction, which is probably why the adult form does not eat. They mate “indiscriminately,” apparently. Sounds like a good time.

I have a copy of the Bible in Braille. It takes up an entire 2 ft. wide by 6-ish ft. tall bookshelf. (.6 by 1.8 m)
12·2 days agoI watched half of the whole series this Saturday simply because it was on episode one by chance when I tuned into Pluto TV. Its jokes are timeless. The characters are very real. And, it’s more mature than you might think for a cartoon with teenage characters. (Except Aang of course, who is one hundred and twelve.)
3·3 days agoOh, I guess it was you who didn’t say fen. But it’s probably more correct to leave “fen” out, at least if you want to be understood. It is not s common word. I had to look it up.
As a native speaker, I’ve never heard the word “fen” in my life. So, that’s probably why they didn’t say that.
I caught some flak because my husband is 8 years younger. I reminded my family that they let my mom get married off at 14, and nobody brings it up anymore. Tennessee (USA), if you’re wondering.

I’m from the USA, and when I first heard “digga,” I was certainly confused! It seems the youth say it even more than the generation that invented the phrase now.
Anyway, English speakers have an old phrase that is similar and might help some understand the usage of the word “thick” here. The phrase is “thick as thieves” - meaning thieves stick together.
It doesn’t. “Monkey” is used in common racist language against black people. That’s the racist aspect.
“Monkeypox” also became associated with the LGBT+ community after the most recent breakout in the USA. And Americans love hating the gays almost as much as they love being racist. So, there are (at least) two negative stigmas associated with “Monkeypox.” They attempted to alleviate this by changing the name to Mpox. (It arguably didn’t help much.)
Mpox was monkeypox. They renamed it in an attempt to remove stigma.
So, I thought it was trying to locate the power socket on the wall and plug itself in. This was great.
