No more ladies currently growing unfortunately…
A wildfire a few years ago hurt the business, and an ice storm this last winter sealed the deal - the company folded… About to move back to the city soon in hopes of better employment

For me in my line of work N, K and P is always the easiest. It’s always Ca and Mg causing problems
(Sidenote… It hurts that the meme isn’t in N-P-K order lol)
Nice, I’m bookmarking that one!
I got this one here a while ago after hearing lots of good things, tho admittedly haven’t gotten around to reading it just yet. It’s on my short list for next up tho
Oregonian here. There’s currently over 100 fires burning across our state. 5 of them currently considered mega-fires.
Our state-level firefighters, as well as the federal-level are seriously, seriously underpaid. If you’re the letter-to-politician-writing type, please help advocate for better pay and benefits for our firefighters
Its been awhile since I’ve lived in the city, and even longer since I’ve visited these folks’ place, but if you’re in the Portland, OR area Free Geek is definitely worth checking out!
Copy paste from their “about” section:
We are a non-profit organization with a mission: to repurpose technology and discover sustainable solutions while providing educational resources. Our ultimate aim is to foster a vibrant community where individuals are empowered to unlock their full potential. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to transform the world by leveraging technology, sustainability, and education to create a brighter, more inclusive future, where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and make a meaningful impact…
Free Geek’s goal is to divert technology that would otherwise be recycled or thrown away, refurbish it, and give it back to our community at no or low cost.
Right on, thanks for the info!
Oh damn. Was coolroms part of that too? I’ve used emuparadise and coolroms a bunch over the years. Kinda makes me want to stock up just in case
I’m OOTL, which ROM sites got shut down?
Oh shit, thanks! Didn’t realize!
“A fascist trained today. Did you?”
The size of your flower room, as well as the amount of, and size of, your carbon filters and fans would be relevant info.
Carbon filters do have a lifespan. And their lifespan is also affected by the overall humidity in your room while they’re running. (Higher humidity reduces it…)
ineffective altruism checking in! =P
Hell yea. I got these saved for later!
I feel like you’ll probably really enjoy Charlie Parr as well, if you don’t already know him
I really enjoyed that, thank you
It really seems like my grocery store (a Kroger brand) has been doing this for a bit now.
Prices on certain things vary wildly depending on the time of the month or the day of the week. Plus, with their bullshit, incessant push for everyone to use their app and online ordering, it seems like this will be much more common moving forward.
I’m not a tree person at all, so hopefully someone who is chimes in for you.
But I am a plant guy. And a lot of plants can benefit from a good pruning. They tend to show some more vigor in their growth afterwards.
My suggestion would be to maybe try pruning off those lower branches, up to just above your roof.
I’ll second the Dickies. I used to wear Carhartt’s for work because they held up well. But lately they haven’t. The Dickies I’m currently rocking at work have so far held up really well, although I did just switch like 6 months ago. For what it’s worth, my poor, carpenter grandfather wore Dickies everything. Exclusively.
Thanks man. Almost 20yr long profession, and I think this is finally what’s gonna get me to switch things up.
Funny enough, one of the few gigs I applied to while waiting to hear the news from my boss was in fact a reclamation project, helping with the large dam removal here in OR. They had filled the position already tho. But that is the kind of career pivot I’d love to make!
But, I do love me some harebrained schemes! I’m all ears if you hear of anything.
Moving back to the city will be good for me - it’s where all my people and support networks are, it’s just not what I’d prefer to be doing long term.
