Why are people still organizing outside building the oligarchs never go to? No wonder people don’t show up, it doesn’t work. Perhaps if we organized outside gated communities or billionaires mansions, occupy the oligarchs instead of some sidewalk.

I understand what you’re saying. Yes, Democrats aren’t even close to the ideal, but putting pressure on the wound is still better than tearing it open so to speak. “It’s not about waiting for the bus that’ll take you straight to your destination, which will never come. It’s about taking different buses that take you closer to your destination.”
The problem though is that there is no bus coming for us. We’re standing in the freezing cold waiting for a bus that is promised to us by people that can ride a luxury coach to a warm paradise whenever they want, who have no intention of sending a bus to us because they don’t want to share their warm paradise with everyone (it wouldn’t be “theirs” if everyone gets to enjoy it.) Whatever bus they do send us takes us to another freezing cold bus stop, some maybe closer to the warm paradise than others, but they’re still all freezing cold. The only way we’ll get there is if we grind their coaches to a halt, no matter how many bodies it takes throwing at them to jam up the wheels, getting on that bus, taking the wheel by any means necessary, and only THEN do we even have a bus to get anywhere. But relying on their blue coloured bus to be against the red coloured bus that both go nowhere is what a defense for Democrats look like. We’d really be better off figuring out how to stop the luxury coaches so we can start shuttling everyone bit by bit, most people don’t even acknowledge the luxury coaches even exist.
Ahh so much unity and cooperation with your approach, no wonder America is fucked.
Maybe if they didn’t run such a shitty campaign, ignore the genocide, have Bill Clinton campaign them, and ignore the concerns of the majority, then more non-voters would’ve voted for them? If you think protests voters did more to make them lose than their shitty campaign, you need to get that blue boot out of your mouth.
How do you vote against capitalism?
“You shouldn’t pay attention to politics it’s unhealthy.” - My “liberal” “centrist” family. “You should focus on yourself” they say, “It is what it is, can’t do anything to change it, work on yourself” they say, as if the most enlightened and reasonable perspective is to put a blanket over your head and pretend that the monsters don’t exist. They’d say “It’s hard to take you seriously, maybe become a politician or economist” but when you give them reading material written by economists, politicians, as well as lauded minds like MLK Jr or Einstein, they roll their eyes and go “You shouldn’t pay attention to politics it’s unhealthy, focus on yourself.”
The DNC being in favor of genocide steered muslim voters to want to burn this whole place down.
The muslim vote and Gaza protest votes combined isn’t what caused democrats to lose and they didn’t want to “burn this whole place down” as you put it, Democrats lost because of their shitty campaign, saying nothing about progressive politics or what people wanted to hear, ontop of all the Gaza stuff, and has the likes of Bill Clinton campaigning for them. Don’t blame muslims for the Democrats shitty-ass campaign.
or convenience, or ignorance…
These two are especially important, and why I call fascist on pretty much all centrists who think that political and social ignorance is the most sensible and reasonable position. “Both sides have good and bad ideas,” they say with their head high, and after the damage is done they blame both sides for not being as sensible as them. “I dislike extremists no matter what side they’re on,” they say, as they scoff and roll their eyes at protestors marching against police brutality, “get a job” some of these enlightened centrists would say. They act wise, and caring, saying “I just want the best for humanity” with not even so much as a vague depiction of what that could be, or how to go about it, you ask “How do we get there?” They shrug. “Do you read any political theory?” you may ask, they shrug again. “I don’t take sides, nor do I have time to read anymore, I need to focus on work to pay the bills and feed my family.”
These types of people are not centrist, they’re fascist.
capitalism is that if everyone did it correctly, and worked together to maximize each other’s value, it wouldn’t even be that bad.
Capitalism isn’t, never was, and never could be about working together to maximize each other’s value. It has always, only was, and will only ever be about privatizing value, stamping a logo on other peoples work going “This is my work now.” All that “free, competitive market” bullcrap exists with or without capitalism, “better product is more popular” has nothing to do with capitalism except stifling better products for sake of capital aka profits, such as planned obsolescence, for-profit healthcare/prisons, buying cheap selling high, etc. You really think the people who invented the sail kept their IP private for the sake of profit? Or do they share that value with the world simply because everyone would benefit. What about metallurgy, leavened bread, beer? The polio vaccine? Some people worship the markets like a God that bears them miracles through human sacrifice, other atheists go one God further.
Nor have human beings and their endlessly diverse methods of trade and commerce in some rugged jungle somewhere need some white european/russian dude from the 1800s to tell them the complex philosophy of “sharing.”
C-level is beholden to shareholders, who would pay minimum wage if given the option.
They’d pay less than that. “Minimum wage” means “I’d pay you less, but I can’t because it’s illegal.” Hell, workers had to fight for weekends, they’d happily take that away and put kids back in factories if they could.
Please tell us more how an individual should put themselves into harms-way while you type behind your brave keyboard.
I took a brick to the knee standing up against the UK fascists that went running around doing pogroms. I’d take a million more too. What are you doing to stand up against fascism? Show up to work on time?
“I’m still too comfortable, I need to pay my bills” should be the summoning chant for fascism.
Thank you for proving my point, bicker and bitch while you see how much worse things get it is then. Americans like you truly deserve what’s coming, because the rest of the world is trying to scream at you but “it’s not bad enough yet.” I’ll ask again, what will it take? Where is the line that they cross when you KNOW they’re a threat to your life?
Not disgusted enough to mobilize against them though.
It’s coming and Americans are refusing to see the oncoming headlights.
I don’t know why you’re being downvoted, when will Americans understand this? Their political system is done, there’s no turning back at this point, it’s gone beyond the event horizon. The only question is how long will Americans continue to bicker and bitch while they see how much worse things get. You have concentration camps now, 10 days in, what will it take? Where is the line that they cross when you know they’re a threat to your life? When the soldiers are already banging your door?
What will it take, Americans? What will it take? What will it take.
They should’ve, yet they didn’t. All this 2A stuff Americans have been hyping up for decades has really just been a pose this whole time. All a bluff, and now that the fascists are not only within their shores, but in the highest offices of power? It is a beyond imaginably fucked situation right now, even with all this controversy it doesn’t resemble a fraction of how alarmed we should all be. There needs to be a mass panic, or people need to act RIGHT NOW.
People will say “I don’t need God in my life to be a good person” out one side of their mouth, while out the other say, “People need laws and the state to be a good person.” I’m an atheist just like them, I just go one god further.
Yeah but we need to stop occupying sidewalks and start occupying gated communities. The fact that protest organizers won’t do this says everything you need to know about them - they prefer passive action that does nothing but maintain the status quo. I’ve been to over 100 protests everything from workers strikes to BLM to Occupy Wall St, and i’ve learned that occupying a sidewalk that the oligarchs don’t walk on does nothing but make the cause look pathetic. We need to protest where the oligarchs will be afraid, anything less is just playing into their hands.
