Just let them donkey vote. Who cares.
The point is almost everyone participates.

Perhaps. I’m not expert but I’m just not convinced you’d get good compliance across instances.
After all, even minimal non- compliance makes the whole thing pointless
It would be great if everything could be classified in this way, but is it practically possible to apply a more complex system like this across instances, given that we struggle with the simpler NSFW tag?
If you can’t export / save / transfer codes then you need to regenerate all your 2fa codes every time you switch to a new device.
2FA doesn’t need to be infallible, it just needs to be a second factor.
Idiots. I’m certain that absolutely no one wants this. What a shit show.
That’s a false dichotomy.
I’ve never licked a frog so I don’t know.
It’s considered impolite to espouse political views here in Australia.
However, I’ve found that taking about issues rather than identities, with a modicum of diplomacy, is usually fine.
I think this would be a lot more difficult in the US with the issues at hand because you’re not deciding mundane things like whether to subsidise roof top solar but rather, whether autocracy would make a nice change.
Jfc Americans. How did any one not know about project 2025?
The rest of the world is watching you elect your new supreme leader eternal and you guys are just sleep walking it through.
refuse.
That’s just not practically possible.
OP said they’re running a small business. It’s great that they want to fly the flag for FOSS, but they’re not in the business of promoting and advocating for FOSS. They still need to do the things they need to do.
Refusing to file your taxes on the grounds that the software provided is not open source is a great way to no longer be in business.
Perhaps.
I’m less optimistic. The world over voters seem to be drawn towards these populist assholes, and I think it’s important to note that the UK is not an exception, despite the labour victory.
I fear that next election reform is going to do much better.
In the mean time, Labor may not have much of a mandate for progressive policies, they’ll be creeping to the right to quell support for reform party.
Yes, but he wasn’t 14 hours ago when I was wondering how accurate the polls were.
Polls in the US and Australia in the last decade have been absurdly inaccurate.
It’s not hyperbole, it’s fair criticism.
I genuinely believe that the minimum standard of a functioning member of society is to select a representative who will participate in setting policies for the society of which they are a part.
To claim that no one aligns with your ideology or your views is to fail in that objective. You simply select the one most closely aligned.
I think people think of fascism as specifically “murdering minorities” or something rather than a form of autocracy.
As a non-european I have some questions!
Firstly, is voting in the UK compulsory?
Secondly, how likely is it that the polls are wrong and the Tories will form government?
And thirdly, how have the Tories suddenly fallen from grace? They’ve presided over a real shit show for the last decade but kept getting elected. What changed?
Congratulations, you’ve failed to achieve the bare minimum standard expected of functioning members of society, and apparently failed to understand how democracy works. Well done.
With votes that close there’s plenty of luck involved in other ways. The weather, tv schedule etcetera.
It’s definitely a problem, but it’s not preclusive.
The alternative is equally terrifying - just a third of voters being the majority in the brexit referendum is unconsciable.
