The Two Trees of Valinor were my first thought as well.

dammit, franklin! i told you to lay off the beans!
tell that to my astigmatism lol
Jimmy Carter
We definitely upped our chair game since then. That’s for sure
Indeed. Sometimes it’s helpful to filter your thoughts through a different lense, and tarot can spark ideas or aspects you hadn’t considered as you try to fit things within the context of the cards you’re seeing.
Honestly, the plot points themselves were fine it’s the execution that made it terrible. The pacing was off, character interactions and motivations made no sense, yes. But the broad-brush strokes of the plot could have been done well.
My glasses are really thick to make up for my astigmatism, and it makes the world look a bit convex. Eventually, my brain got used to that, but when I switch to contacts I have a good day or two where everything looks concave (first time I thought my phone screen had finally been sat on one too many times) until my brain reverts back. IDK if i’ve ever noticed circles looking like eggs, but then again I rarely am looking at circles with my naked eyes and maybe my brain is fixing it for me anyway?
deck game-specific settings:
in-game settings:
For some graphically-intensive builds or that one map in the swampy area that i cannot for the life of me maintain 40fps, i turn the resolution down in-game (but still fullscreen) and use the deck’s FSR at max sharpness, though this does make text a little hard to read, so i try to avoid it. I can generally get away with tdp limit of 10-12W too.
At least Gilead cared about pollution and environmental sustainability…
i play exclusively on the steam deck and am happy with the performance
Pull out your closest volume of Lord of the Rings and take a look. My copy at least has single-quotes for the speech text and double-quotes are used for nested speech. I guess it might be up to the publisher (eg: my copy of Harry Potter has been “Americanized” and thus uses double-quotes for the first level of speech text), but every copy of LotR i’ve run across uses single-quotes.
yup. tortillas go in the fridge so you can get individual ones easily. Staleness never really bothered me, but i do warm them up on the stove to improve malleability. And i like to get my burritos a little crispy on the outside to help seal the final fold. Now i want burritos…
I think that’s one of the theories for explaining dark matter (i personally like the idea because it can also possibly address why gravity seems to be so much weaker of a fundamental force, but i’m a chemist, not a physicist, so take that with a grain of salt).
We actually kinda do perceive a fourth dimension: time. Sure, we infer it from our memories and come up with cause and effect relationships to help us understand it. But we do know it’s there.
i have totally run into stuff that silently truncates the password i give it. It’s always something like online banking that you would hope has robust enough security standards to hash that shit, too… The one in particular i’m thinking of silently truncated the password in the reset-password form, but not for the log-in form. Took me forever to figure out wtf was going on there.
i do this all the time. when i get close to finishing the game, i HAVE to go do all the side quests i neglected to finish along the way. Then i get burned out and beforei do the final boss… But my SO has similar video game tastes as me, so i end up just watching him do the final boss on his save hahaha
Sometimes i’ll do this in the winter. We try to minimize heat/AC energy usage, and i get cold easily, so once i’m in the nice warm shower it takes a minute to work up the courage to make the mad dash to get my clothes back on lol
I love the lane assist on my car. It does resist me a little bit in the situations you describe, but it’s not a strong resistance. Just enough to get my attention if i do it by accident, but not enough to hinder me going where i need to go.
Now i’m curious what the lane assist parameters look like for different makes and models…
