I remember running Enlightenment as a DM for my pc long ago and loved it’s looks and animated splash screen. Back then I found other DM to be looking like old stuff trying to look like windows. But E was beautiful and smooth. Just not the most developed as a system management ( it was mostly just a DM and no proper system configuration tools ) I don’t know where it’s at now but I kind of miss the styling.

The problem with that is that vulnerability will be found and used. Since it’s connected to the internet it will be exposed to attackers and could be infected with botnet viruses/tools and used to attack other computer/services.

My friends high end sony system with square speakers (yeah I’m old) kept poping the speaker coils out of their sockets at 70% power. His 600$ sony dvd player would not play burned DVDs. My Phillips amp would power my realistic home made speakers up to 100% and they could still take a lot more (200W RMS amp and 275W designed speakers) and my weird named 65$ DVD would even play DIVX movies on burned DVDs. Fuck Sony.

Changed the battery on my friends BMW it just took removing 5 parts/covers/crossbar, 16 bolts, 2 clips and the battery was ONLY 350$. German engineering at its finest!

Oh, I almost forgot his gas pedal keeps unclipping from the bottom when there is a bit of sand or rocks on the carpet. Told him to press from the bottom instead of the top so it stays clipped but does he listen !

I see a huge difference in picture quality especially at night in my latest phone. And I now kind of like the bump on my pixel 8, I used to use my pinky to prevent the phone from slipping down and it got to a point where it hurts due to the phone weight. But with the pixel 8 I often use the bump with all my fingers holding the weight preventing my pinky from being torn away.
