Sometimes I live in the future.
Sometimes I live in the past.
Sometimes I live in the future.
Sometimes I live in the past.
Filters could be made biodegradable. Batteries? Probably but not in our lifetime.
My problem with Ebikes is the number of regular bikes stolen. No way I want to haul a ebike up and down my basement stairs a couple times a day.
The basement has been good to me to.
If you’re so concerned about 3rd parties being a spoiler, then you must work towards replacing First-past-the-post voting in your state.
With a more representative electoral system, people would be free to vote for those they feel best represent them, with their vote still being counted against the republicans.
State level electoral reform is possible, some states have already done away with FPTP voting, and others are voting on it!
Given how this structural flaw in our voting system can be repaired, and your high level of concern of the spoiler effect, I invite you to my asklemmy post to discuss your new commitment to replacing FPTP voting in your state after the election.
Like what happened after the last presidential election?
You need to block users. Users like me! I am glad you are using lemmy your way. Peace.
The democratic party should get to it replacing First-past-the-post voting then. Stopping the Republicans is priority right?
With election reform we don’t need for the Republican party to stop existing to get more viable options in the voting booth.
I can see you understand the flaws of First past the post voting quite well. We are going to need people like you to change this mathematically flawed voting system.
Feel free to stop by my ask lemmy post to discuss replacing First-past-the-post voting in your state when you’re ready. Thanks.
Politics is marketing.
Looking to shut up those people complaining about both sides from the sidelines? Put them in the game by passing electoral reform in your state.
Since they seem to know it all, let them show us how it’s done by replacing First-past-the-post voting, passing equal access and airtime laws, and switching away from a perpetual election cycle to something shorter and more reasonable.
Get them to prove to us they know how to do things by making third parties viable and doing away with the infamous spoiler effect that is inherent with FPTP voting.
More people involved in the poltical process, more people voting, more people voting = more democratic votes, more chances to defeat the republicans, more people to call out bullshit on the debate stage, no more canceled debates because of giant man babies.
Electoral reform is just win after win for the American people. I know the election season has people exhausted, but things don’t have to be this way. We can be free.
The revolution will not be hosted on the fediverse.
I get why people say you “have to” vote against someone in a First Past The Post voting system. What I don’t get is the inaction from the democratic party on changing the voting system between elections.
I wish the democrats had one tenth the urgency they claim to have. Democracy is one election away from falling… wouldn’t you want multiple chances to defeat the republicans every election?
Democrats are so full of themselves, they won’t accept that they might have to step out of the way to prevent the republicans from ruining this country. This fight is greater then the democratic party. They should start acting like it by pushing to get rid of FPTP voting in the states they control.
Hey, remember when the liberal party of Canada ran and won on electoral reform? And then just went “nah bro” and didn’t get anything done about it?
Oopsie daisy gee golly isnt governing hard? Not that you would know because youre not in their club and you will never get a chance to govern.
Looks like now you have to vote for the liberals again or yous gets the conservatives again. Ahhh shucks ding dang it. What a conundrum. Quite the pickle ain’t it?
Sound familiar?
We don’t have to wait for Republicans to want to become socialists (what the absolute fuck is this line of thinking?). We can have more then two viable political parties with a more representative electoral system like STAR voting.
How we.vote is.controlled.at the state level as well, so we don’t need a miracle to pass in congress to get these changes. In fact, some states have already passed legislation that replaced First Past The Post voting. Others are voting on it in referendums soon to!
So it’s possible, gets more people involved in the political process, and gets more votes for democrats.
we just need convince the DNC that democracy is a good thing.

Did you know that with more representative voting systems, people would be free to vote for whomsoever they wish, secure in the knowledge their vote would still be casted against those they don’t want in office?
I invite you to my asklemmy post to discuss your recent commitment to replacing First Past The Post voting in your state so people can vote freely.
Don’t blame me, I voted for kodos.
