I used to get a good portion of my news from CNN but since they got sold, the quality of their journalism has gone to shit.

I’m guessing that you are not from America. I’m fairly certain that you can fail out of being a police officer because you’re too intelligent.
This is certainly a concern, but all in all, shining a light on it is a VERY good thing.
I do love me some Wasabi (even when it’s mostly just horseradish).
Great points. Note: I’m not arguing against it as a concept. I’m just skeptical that it’ll happen, and even if it did, there wouldn’t likely be terrible consequences for the accused, especially as that’s what science is… new facts change the outcome vs choosing an outcome and matching facts to it.
Are you expecting that the for-profit college will go back and retroactively rescind degrees? What’s the end-game for re-running the thesis?
Article is paywalled, but love the headline. Imagine a future with energy as an essentially free resource. We have a LONG way to go, but just the fact that we are moving in the right direction gives me a glimmer of hope for the future.
Actually the low cost part of this was that they weren’t upgraded cells. Just tested-good cells from other battery packs. Most of the time it’s just a couple cells in the bigger battery that have issues, and they take those out of the pool and make a good amount of $$$ because we were required to send back all of our cells. Assuming that of the 26 (iirc) cells that 3 or 4 were bad that’s a big profit margin for sure. The car worked great after swapping them out.
If they need to cut power, I’ll suggest that they start with this address: 1010 Colorado St, Austin, TX 78701
Actually, no! Once the really BIG human die-offs start, the hyperwealthy will ‘bunker up’ for a while and once the population shrinks back down, we won’t be putting out all that greenhouse gas anymore, and the earth will cool back down. They’ll keep a few cities in places like Norway or what have you around to keep providing food and fuel for their choppers and parties.
I replaced the main battery in a Gen1 Prius. Fiddly. Had to get a strong buddy to help lift it in and out of the car, but we did it in a long weekend. A full set of ‘used but tested’ cells cost something like $750 but that was probably 8 years ago.
I ‘AINT ROLLIN’ WITHOUT MY MAN GOLDBUG!
The classic response is that you have to capture lightning first to apply to the rick that you want to do the thinking.
If it’s even possible. I’ve personally swapped the main battery pack on a Gen 1 Prius. Not easy, but more tedious than technical. Lifting the assembled unit was a hell of a chore but a coulple strapping dudes managed it. Reconditioned cells are available in a lot of places. I’ve had a Nissan Leaf and would get another one, but even finding a battery, let alone any info on swapping it was pretty much impossible.
Rip your inbox…
This is like those horrible choice “would you rather” questions. Eat the hot dog, or drink the alcohol.
I’m thinking that would decrease the chance of problems.
Ted Nugent would shoot you for saying as much.
This one should be continued… but in the vein of Netflix being morons, I’ll believe it when I see it.
Hopefully the door hits her ass on the way out.
