Vertigo can strike quite suddenly, especially if it’s from a brain injury, and I personally can’t really fathom a situation where I would ever prioritize the camera, even if mild. But my experience with this comes from my ex-fiancé who would get vertigo episodes out of the blue with no warning because of having too many concussions playing football at a young age. He was still built like a football player though, so I wouldn’t be able to even drag him, let alone carry him any significant distance. Can’t risk it getting worse instead of better.

Vertigo can just be dizziness/disorientation full stop. It can be from heights, it can happen from a brain injury, from being sick, and it can be completely unpredictable.

It was none of those things actually. It’s impossible to objectively judge our own artworks. We can analyze it, tell others what we think are the strong and weak points, but it’s extremely common for most people, especially when it comes to art, to judge it with a much higher degree of scrutiny that we do not reserve for others.

It’s something I’ve had to work through myself, both with my art and myself as a person. And with that comes an inherent distrust of others opinions of themselves and their work, especially when it’s excessively dismissive or pessimistic.

I think your art is probably better than you think. We’re all our worst critics.
