Human beings aren’t meant to be sedentary. Absolutely get moving in some way or another!
I guess I find it interesting that if people truly enjoy their thing, wouldn’t they want to know/hear more and not be turned off by a person who might know more?
And then they get mad that you don’t tell them what you’re up to. Either listen and don’t belittle, or be a belittler and don’t expect to hear anything.
Pick one, you can’t have both.
Cities Skylines - because ain’t no way am I getting enough memory for the fluid huge city I want to be flying through. Also, it’s fun to watch design nerds make some really pretty cities.
The clear evidence of human ignorance and irrationality in the political arena poses a serious challenge to the popular wisdom. Lacking awareness of basic facts of their political systems, to say nothing of the more sophisticated knowledge that would be needed to reliably resolve controversial political issues, most citizens can do no more than guess when they enter the voting booth. . . . [T]he attempt to influence public policy through such arbitrary guesses is unjust and socially irresponsible.
Dayum.
Have you seen Perfect Days?
Really? I didn’t know anyone during high school that would’ve known how to enlist / benefits. It really depended on whatever anyone was interested in, what people knew about. I grew up in New York City.
Who said it wasn’t in the fridge? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Exactly as planned by the reigning political parties.
I feel you. It sounds like you’re saying “the way the world currently works” is broken. So why do more of the same and keep it that way? The world needs a new way to work. Let the old way die out, emulate a new way.
Solving violence with violence doesn’t ever work.
To quote Bayard Rustin: “If we desire a society of peace, then we cannot achieve such a society through violence. If we desire a society without discrimination, then we must not discriminate against anyone in the process of building this society. If we desire a society that is democratic, then democracy must become a means as well as an end.”
Ah but then you’re admitting that impeachment has shown itself to be of little effect for a (current) moment. It’s still incumbent on us as a society to hold those responsible for this accountable. And worse, it looks like somehow the impeached person is a likely prospect to become president again.
Wouldn’t shutdown /p be faster?
Honestly most unsavvy people don’t even realize they can turn their monitors off. Especially if the buttons are behind or under the screen, they wouldn’t even know the buttons were there.
Weird, the link didn’t work? Here’s the link
Edit: Link didn’t work at first, now it does.
Yes, it’s odd. I think this snippet from the second article about the four states might shed light:
“The approved measures will not immediately change the states’ prison systems, but they could lead to legal challenges about prisoners being forced to work or facing sanctions or loss of certain privileges if they don’t.”
How do you like it? I was thinking of going that route, especially with their Easy Switch tool.
