  • Yep. I was enlisted in the navy. I’ve seen this pipeline over and over on Facebook

Hate the Navy, Joe Rogan Phase, Hate the Government, Jordan Peterson Phase, Becomes sexist and undateable, Become libertarian, Be smarter and better than everyone else, Diet racism, Conspiracy theories, Angry and isolated because of their shitty beliefs, Digs in more and lives to argue, Lost their fucking mind

It’s sad watching genuinely decent people become angry, scared, and isolated. You can’t even feel bad for them because of how insufferable they become.

  • I feel like they are missing a bit. Most people don’t buy brand new cars. You have to be solidly “middle class” to have that on the table. I am the target consumer and they are completely missing me. I have a family. My wife and I both work. I have a small gas truck that is our all-in-one family vehicle. She has an eco box for commuting. Most potential customers already have a big gas truck or SUV. An EV would be their second car for work commuting. They are not selling that. They are trying to sell EVs as all-in-one replacements for gas cars when really they should be designed and marketed as supplements to the car you already have. What ends up happening is customers “settle” for hybrids. The focus on charging difficulty is misplaced. In general, people who live in apartments don’t buy brand new vehicles. At least that’s what I think.

  • “Data Considerations The data found on the Crime Data Explorer represents reported crime, and is not an exhaustive report of all crime that occurs. It’s important to consider the various factors that lead to crime activity and crime reporting in a community before interpreting the data. Without these considerations the available data can be deceiving. Factors to consider include population size and density, economic conditions, employment rates, prosecutorial, judicial, and correctional policies, administrative and investigative emphases of law enforcement, citizens’ attitudes toward crime and policing, and the effective strength of the police force.”

  • I don’t have a WSJ subscription so I couldn’t read the article. One thing I haven’t seen discussed is being house trapped. If you purchased a house before everything got crazy and refinanced with a sub 3 interest rate you are effectively trapped in your house now. You would need to make so much more money to buy your same house now. It would be a stupid financial decision to move for a job. What you end up with a stupid long commutes.
