This is what I do too. The first thing I do after buying from GoG is to download the installers, both Windows and Linux. So I don’t have to download again and again every time I install. I can carry a copy around and install it on an offline machine too. I also share my games with my family, just like sharing discs in the old time. If some of them like one of the games, they’ll buy it again themselves. If this is not owning games in practice, I don’t know what is.

It feels like the problem with Linux gaming nowadays, is that people expect you to own your games on Steam. Yes, Steam’s support is excellent now. But my GOG games not so smoothly. Is it because of my obscure hardware? Is it my misconfiguration? Or is it me mod my games the wrong way? I’m still trying to figure out a way to mod my GOG Skyrim through MO2.

I still have a machine that runs Windows 10 LTSC. Used to need it to run Adobe softwares, but I get past that now.

Now I need it to run my heavily modded Bethesda games. I can’t get my GOG versions to run through MO2 or NMM even with the help of Steam. I feel really stupid. Heroic Launcher somehow can’t run some Proton supported games on my end, too. My small collection on Steam seems fine, but most of my games are on GOG, I can’t figure out why sometimes Heroic won’t work.

The Fifth Element comes to my mind immediately. It was my happy place.

The Lord of the Rings, It’s what I watch when I felt lost.

Also, Nostalgia, another film I rewatch when I felt not belonging and nowhere to go back to.

I remember every place where I’ve lived in for more than one week. Including their surrounding areas. I like go back there in my mind from time to time, for many of them don’t exist any more.

The problem with brands that offer Plus and larger sizes are usually made for heavier weights, not for high but thinner. Once you abandon Woman’s clothes altogether, the problem goes away. It’s a shame, but buying clothes become so much simpler, and you get functional pockets as a plus too.

As a nonnative, I stuck at 1600. Too many different spellings really gives me trouble…

I, too, am glad that I added two more RAMs when they were cheap. Hopefully if one of them died, I can still have a decent machine in the foreseeable future.

The short one I knew likes to parry and get close, often step to the side, then stab or hit you in the lower half. But they can get close and stab you in the neck too. But it’s unsafe even with the Feder, I once broke someone’s bone with it, so all I have to say is the shorties can hit all the parts the manuscripts recommended. Of course you can hit them in the head too, but usually they are very aware of their distances, like the other one said, you might have more luck hitting their hands.

But people are different. One of our short guys get very good at protecting his head and hands, his only weakness is his lower right side…

My partner and I sometimes sparring and discuss on different scenarios. But those are just games and hypotheses. There are always advantages and disadvantages, prepared and not prepared, there can be ambushes that we don’t know how we died, a fight with the same weapon is not fair because all sorts of things. All in all, we don’t want to be caught in a fight. If have to, we want the information/power/instrument the opponent don’t know we have. And then, we might still die…

So I might want to keep the advantage that I thought I have, or my opponent thought I don’t have, as a secret. Maybe?

Hello HEMA friend. I repeatedly see tall people get their knees beaten. Then some learn to keep their distances too. But the ultimate killing machine is the left-handed… Lucky we don’t have one, but my partner and I try to train our left hands too.

That if we put up enough efforts, we’ll achieve world peace? I held this stupid belief till high school.

That adults are trustable, and will honour their words? This died young.

Childhood memories felt distant, but looking back, when I was small, I generally like doing things in my own corner, or going out on my own if I can.

I felt close to my father, enjoyed ask him all sorts of questions like he knew everything, and often worried he might died or went missing, and I’ll became an orphan. Never felt close to my mother.

I also remember I loved one of our family cat very much, but they gave him away. I loved my rooster that I grow from a chicken very much, but they ate him.

One of my niche hobbies, like HEMA and HEMAScholar.

A community for Ikea stuffs would be nice too?

I still like Skallagrim. He still gave helpful reviews about blacksmiths and historical weapons that I’m interested in. And IMO, his channel was always more entertainment than scholarship. But HEMA is a martial art that develops slowly, way slower than YouTube algorithm’s demand. There are not many new stuffs to talk about. If there has to be fillers to get his channel going, I’m okay with that.

Edit: Back to the topic. There are not many channels that I care about degraded to the point that I can’t bare. What makes me a little sad is that from time to time, channels stop publishing videos. Especially after Covid, people found better things to do, so they hibernated their YouTube channels.

Yeah, I like world building since as young as I can remember, and continued it till this day. There are several worlds, but all in the same universe. Putting characters in there and see them evolve is fun. Continuing the narratives also helps me sleep, it’s like a sort of meditation.
