  • Bless at low-to-mid levels and spirit guardians later are the best things Shadowheart can spend her concentration on for, like, 95% of situations. Both spells are extremely good, just like they are in the tabletop. Never understood people criticizing Shadowheart for being useless; she’s a Cleric, and that’s great already even if her subclass (which you can respec her out of) is subpar for the class.

The shield-based fighting style was also a small note that was missed in the duel between Paul and Jamis in the movie. Paul was missing what they thought were clear cuts and as a result they believed he was cruelly toying with Jamis, but it was because he was slowing his blade at the very last moment due to shield training.

Also a slightly weird moment for me as a book fan was when the thopter Duncan escaped in clearly showed that it had shields with a rock crashing off of it, but then he was being chased by lasguns immediately after.

  • I feel like the UX/UI also needs a lot of work. Tooltips missing important information, an inability to see what future levels in a class/subclass grant me (making it much more difficult to make an informed decision there), I can’t view the inventory/character sheets of companions not currently in my party (requiring four steps of starting dialogue just to check items on a person and swap back to my original party member), a lack of explanation on how things are calculated or what your proficiency bonus is/comes from, etc. Not even counting the numerous visual bugs in the UI, or how the UI just seems oddly sluggish at times for no discernible reason.

I’m genuinely loving a ton of the game. But interacting with the interface is a constant low level annoyance that pulls me out of the experience just a bit all the time and noticeably detracts from my enjoyment as a result.
