Dang, I guess it is too late then. I was really hoping my call to action would come any day now.
Funny, I assumed it was about millennials.
My go to has always been the emergency stop in the elevator.
Most people in the military feel the same. Everyone I knew when I was in hated being thanked for their service. Most didn’t join to serve their country, they joined for the benefits that come with it.
He’s probably got a hog on him
It’s hyperbole, yo. It’s just funny because people born in the previous century don’t really think of it as that.
Great explanation, thanks
Can you elaborate? I googled the right hand rule, but I’m not seeing how it applies to screws.
Gotcha. Would now be a good time to gamble?
I’m just getting into stocks. Would this be a good time to invest now that it’s low?
Ah, there it is. I was focused on the wrong thing
What’s different?
Well that’s good. I was reading that in the UK, they still have lead pipes, but they don’t repair them. If they have to repair it, they just replace it. I imagine it’s the same here. No one’s laying new lead pipes anywhere that I know of.
Where are you from? Lead pipes are still a thing most everywhere unfortunately. A relic of the past. They aren’t used for new construction, but they are a problem with older infrastructure.
I have a fairly unusual, albeit not unheard of, first name. As far as I can tell, I’m sharing my first and last name with 5 or so people in the US. Back in 2008 or so I nabbed [email protected] (I also own www.firstlast.com haha). Every so often one of my brethren will use my email at dicks sporting goods or something. I always finish activating the account for them and sign them up for text alerts or something. Nothing evil. I figure they can just reply “stop” to opt out.
I know the feeling. A few months ago I randomly got a video call from my boss. Both he and the owner of the company were in the line. They let me know that they unfortunately had to let go of almost everyone on the dev team. Some funding had fell through (gotta love startups). Fortunately, I got to keep my job that day, but I can’t shake the feeling that another layoff is right around the corner.
It’s not real, that’s the Mediterranean sea.
Something weird I’ve been noticing. Lately I’ve been unintentionally minimizing comments before I’ve finished reading them. Just happened with yours. It’s like some subconscious part of my brain goes “booorrring!” half way through reading anything longer than two sentences and immediately goes for the next dopamine kick.
And I’m not knocking your comment. I was genuinely interested in what I was reading. It’s just a little troubling. I dropped Reddit and Lemmy a while back because I felt like I was becoming addicted. I lasted a few months, but evidently I’ve fallen off the wagon.
