Ironically the only thing that will ever work is identifying a user to a person in one form or another. Otherwise it’s just a never ending arms race.

Right. It doesn’t need parity with developers, it just needs to be cheap enough to justify the replacement. Also, there are an army of developers right now trying to make it happen, building guardrails and frameworks and even new languages to enable it. If you are an “ok” developer and you don’t have a plan B, you’re going to be hurting an a few years.

Couldn’t this also just end up as a command economy masquerading as capitalism? Basically the oligarchs get together and say ok game over we win, lets divide up whatever is left and milk that cash cow into perpetuity?

Whatever happened to the theory that it hit his body armor first and deflected up into his neck? I haven’t looked into this in awhile, but recall seeing a video that looked like that is what happened. That would explain the loss in velocity.

It really doesn’t matter if facial recognition is enabled or not today, it can always be done later on. This is a huge invasion of privacy.

If they were smart they would hedge and use AI but not call it AI. Actually build a product that leverages AI and give it an appropriate name.

It’s competition that is supposed to drive down prices. Doesn’t work very well though when you have virtual monopolies and vertically integrated companies to the extent that america has, like Apple and Amazon.
