You come to expect better but then you can only roll your eyes and face-palm when even “the best” do something this stupid.

I would add creation within an IP to this as well. There are so many good IP out there that some large company has devoured and actively chooses to just sit on when we could be getting good fan-made content. One example that comes to mind since it was brought up is EA sitting on American McGee’s Alice. So many fans are desperate for good content from their favourite IPs and are getting corporate by-the-numbers drivel at best or simply nothing.
I think a good trade off here is fans can make what they want then the owners are allowed to incorporate fan stories at their choosing so X fan game would be the official third game in a franchise then the IP owner could run with those ideas to make the fourth entry, for example. It’ll never happen but one can dream.
The cost, no. What they do to rust, yes. What they do to flesh… that’s part of the experiment.
Pretty sure they’re on the pro side of the latter
It’s not science unless you’re using fancy equipment during the practical experiment!
More opportunity for experimentation, I like it!
In the name of scientific accuracy, absolutely. Can’t go having inconclusive results, can we? Now I know one might be inclined to split him top and bottom but I posit we do left and right.
You’ve got my vote. I’m not American but you can rule over my country and give our band of useless cretins the finger too.
We should try both… For science.
Given Sony’s recent string of questionable business decisions and showing their own customers what a bunch of shady pricks they are, they’re probably desperate for any amount of cash injection to put on their quarterly report.
Edit: fixed typos from when I stupidly typed while barely conscious.
A user can use temporary phone numbers to generate at least several accounts over at least a handful of countries. These tools are made for privacy purposes but where there’s privacy, there’s also usually someone abusing it… which usually leads to ruining it for the rest of us.
It’d be a very idiotic move, in my opinion but the push towards contactless payment methods seem to be the way banks and payment services are wanting to push society.
It’s pirated because it’s not through official channels and has the DRM removed, including the requirement for the 2K launcher.
As for the rest of your question, so long as I’ve understood that mess properly, it’s the buyer’s problem when companies start taking away the games we’ve paid for becauae they’re hiding behind a license despite never disclosing the purchase had an expiry date or conveniently left out what that date is as time of purchase.
Control freaks laying out blank canvases for themselves and taking away your consumer rights one cut at a time. As a legitimate owner of the Mafia games on PC, I can report having a significantly better experience with pirated copies since they don’t require their terrible launcher.
Such a shame. Easily the most enjoyable game of it’s genre, in my opinion. I’m not sure I’d want to see a direct sequel but I’d be more than happy to see another story in the world, possibly where new and old characters cross paths.
Yeah, I’d love to know how they’re getting this business plan legit when even grey key sites can’t even match those prices.
It used to be called Bundle Stars though I dare say most would have been more familiar with Humble Bundle until the Fanatical rebranding in 2017.
And likely runs better if my experiences with Cemu and the Wii U version of BOTW running better than native Switch are any indication.
You can’t delete what was already destroyed!
They know about the piracy and are actively removing copyrighted content. This has seen a lot of files going poof from its usage on pornographic forums and is now considered unreliable for such purposes. Not sure if this is going to spill over into other pirated content but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.
