How 'bout 0? It shouldn’t exist in the first place.
So, this is the place where I’m going to be generally hanging out and trolling around, while my Pixelfed, Mastodon, and Blacksky accounts are going to be primarily art posting accounts, and I also have a Nooki account.
I’m also going to start to be active more on here than on lemmy.org, so I’m making this my primary Lemmy account now.
I’ll link the other socials I’m varying levels of active on below, plus my lemmy.org account which I’m demoting to my secondary account if that instance is going to be more unstable from now on.

GOS just partnered up with Motorola/Lenovo a couple days ago.
Generally, anything that isn’t a Tesla because politics aside, Teslas are built terribly and are reportedly already falling apart, so not only is the Tesla brand saddled with baggage, but the cars themselves are built like crap.
Performance-wise if you’re filthy rich, the Rimac Nevera is one of the fastest EVs in existence and snatched performance records left and right when it launched.
If you have mech and electrical skills, you could also build your own out of something like a Geo or an older Civic by swapping the gas drivetrain for the drivetrain out of a wrecked EV, although you’d need a custom controller for it.

Think of how Wyse thin clients are typically ridiculously locked down, these are basically a newer version of those.

Assuming they’re not ridiculously locked down, which they probably are.

Plus laws going after alternative OSes, no doubt lobbied for by MS to eliminate competition for Windows, are starting to creep in now, see Cali and Colorado.
Next step will be mandating SecureBoot and limiting OS selection to a short list of approved options.
And the end game will be thin clients connected to the cloud.

How soon before the Internet Archive goes under because they can’t afford hardware anymore, and to take this further, how soon before self-hosting becomes untenable and self-hosted platforms like the Fediverse start to collapse as a result?

DVD actually still holds up for 2D animation, as 2D animation is probably the only medium that holds up well upscaled from 480p, there’s just not a lot of detail to lose in the upscaling process compared to live action or even 3D animation to some extent.

Think about mp3 CDs…

Given all the attempts at eroding tech freedom, this might end up being future computing, but the cloud is state-controlled.

Assuming the bootloader is not super locked down or even nonexistent, think Wyse thin client levels of locked down.
Changed it to the YT link.

Walmart already locks their computers and other pricey tech up in cabinets for anti-theft reasons.

I can’t believe we’re at the point where entire OSes are blocking whole areas now. What’s next, Cali and anyone else who pushes this will ban building custom PCs because they don’t ship with a pre-approved OS by default? Will companies like System76, Framework, Tuxedo, and Valve stop selling their hardware because they either don’t ship with Windows by default or give you the option to provide your own OS entirely?

They’re teleprompters.

Good thing LibreWolf exists.

Not yet, but surely AOSP distros are in the crosshairs next if they’re not already.

If you ever wanna play 4K BDs on PC, you’ll need a 4K-compatible drive that’s been hacked with LibreDrive though, otherwise you’re stuck using a dedicated set-top player for those.
1080p discs can at least be handled by libaacs and libbdplus /w the necessary files, and don’t necessarily need a hacked drive to play back.
Move to Lemmy, forget Reddit.
I mean, Reddit clearly doesn’t want you, why should you maintain any attachment to it after they gave you the boot for probably some BS reason?
