It always bothered me that Ubisoft sells micro transactions to level up characters in a single player game. Like wtf who is buying this stuff? And why?

Why pay to avoid playing a game?

Totally get it. I forced myself to play the “quests” and ended up loving just playing house. It really lacks a strong overarching story beyond killing mutated dragons and getting buddy buddy with the factions.

At my age, I’m kinda amazed how many games come out that are incredible. I still haven’t played half of the best games of 2023. So I have hope that Bethesda will do a Fallout 76 and suddenly Starfield is awesome.

If it doesn’t happen, that’s okay too. by that time, I’ll have to play the best games of 2024, 2025… Etc.

I love the Wario games because they were so chill. You were a invincible protagonist whose goal was solving puzzles and getting money.

There’s a tool sharing program in my neighborhood. You pay like $20 a year for access, and come by, borrow a tool/leave a tool. It’s great as people leave lots of big tools sitting around doing nothing.

I want that for computer parts and wires.

I see it as two types of people.

Managers expect quick responses. They jump into meetings. They ask for frequent status updates. They’re pissed when you ignore them for a day.

Makers need time to think and create. They code for hours of uninterrupted time. They’re generating art or fine tuning a song. Asking for a status update is an interruption, and every interruption isn’t a lost moment, but a severe disruption.

You’re seeing that in the comments. Some are makers. Some are managers. We both require different things.

If you fire off a email and youre pissed that they’re not responding on YOUR time, thats a YOU problem.

It’s not about it being complicated. It’s about knowing boundaries.

Seems miserable to be at everyone’s whim and you should reconsider.

Creatives like artists and engineers really need Maker Time to operate. They got this far in life for a reason.

I personally ignore emails with vague responses, especially if they treat email like a text message. Im not interested in instant communication via email.

For example:

“Can we meet?”

Should have answered the 5 Ws and name a time so the email is actionable. Otherwise I’ll boomerang it and reply in a few days.
