When I was a teenager at one point I had a waterbed and left the heat off. While not the same thing, it was effective at stealing body heat. I have no idea whether it was a good idea though

I was going to ask what it is, since I’m too lazy to look it up, but this answers sufficiently
A live feed of people at the beach would also be not safe for work. I’m certainly not offended by it, but it’s inappropriate for the work environment
She was set up to increase her visibility, position her as a next candidate, but does not seem to have benefited from the opportunity
Right, copyright was meant to give a profit incentive to creators, but the effectively infinite copyright we have now mainly gives profit incentive to large companies who can horde creative works, like Paramount+ in the above case.
It’s breaking the original compact where we give temporary exclusivity at the reward of more creation. Now it’s effectively permanent exclusivity, with creativity locked up by which obese monster can sit on the biggest hoard of treasure
There’s got to be a better headline - the sword’s name and legend looks just as compelling as Excalibur even if not as well known (outside France)
Cooked my first beer can chicken today and it turned out great! Two whole chickens and a cast iron pan of cornbread on the smoker, cucumber salad, watermelon, and lemon bars for dessert. Had the ex over for dinner and she brought ex—MiL, but it was fun
People are pretty divided and strongly set in their beliefs. Most of the things that come out of Trumps mouth mean I’ll vote for a shrubbery if it is the only other choice
… but I do also think Biden has done a pretty good job and would like to see more of the same, with a hop to the left
Bernie? The only potential candidate even older than the two in contention?
Complying with an under-specified law
I just got this too. Ginger ale, especially this brand, was always so bland but I got some anyway. Wow, big difference! It’s a bold flavor but not enough to be “hot” like a Jamaican Ginger
American eat way too much bread … but I don’t get it either. I tend to follow a routine for breakfast and lunch: one sandwich a day for lunch will use up a loaf in about a week
That’s what i’ve always seen as well. I don’t know what people do to make it work
It was my mom that did this, and always got store brand white bread. For the people saying it works, are you on the Wonder Bread side, or something with more substance?
It’s weird how common this claim is. Growing up, my Mom always frozen bread to keep it longer, but it always tasted bad and was the wrong texture
Yes, horizontal works. My family always stored in water vertically, but my in-laws did that horizontally. Aside from joke wars, it was the same
I’ve been doing this since CoOViD. Previously I never used butter because it’s too hard from the fridge and “everyone knows” you need to refrigerate it.
However I started doing a lot more cooking, so it’s always been finished before it goes bad:
I’m not even sure what “going bad” means for butter. I have seen it change color so the outside is darker than inside, and threw it out. But ive never noticed an off taste or smell.
Huh, when I bake bread, it normally doesn’t last the night. A bunch of hungry teenagers smelling bread baking a couple hours will do that
Yes, I’ve read that but never tried it. If you’re planning on doing another coat, why waste time and water cleaning your brush? If you wrap it in plastic, the paint should stay liquid a couple hours. If you put it in the fridge, supposedly overnight
Agreed, and it’s not necessarily something big or sudden. Over the years I’ve become more likely to hire someone to care for my yard, more likely to use the AC, more likely to not watch my spending at a restaurant. More likely to go overboard at Costco. I get a better cut of meat, more expensive beer, etc. these are all little niceties I can afford, but they add up to a much more expensive lifestyle that always seems to rise with my income
