You have no idea how terrified conservatives are of Chicago. Seriously, it’s the fuckin Boogeyman to them. I’m not kidding, not exaggerating, not hyperbole. Multiple conservatives in my life have looked at me like I’m insane for taking my family there on vacations.
I have some pretty conservative family members none of whom live in Illinois, but they are all Cubs fans and went to Chicago for vacations too. I guess I missed out on this weird aspect of conservatism.
