  It looks like some states have reimbursement programs, but that still means the onus is on the victim initially to pay first and to know about the program.

    That is the saddest fucking thing I have ever heard. I always thought it was like part of filling out a police report or something and the local government paid for it. I love my country but God damn, I fucking hate my country’s government.

      They should be free with every filed police report. It should just be a part of the regular police proceedings and come from their budget.
