previously, i woud occasionally still get through to frontpage and sometimes even load comments, but now, all i get are toasts with either “429 too many requests” or a simple “error”. goodbye, it was fun while it lasted, excited for boost for lemmy!
(and before anyone asks, no, i am not interested in any sort of method to have it keep working. i deleted my reddit account for good and do not plan on returning)
You need to be a mod on a sub, any sub. I only keep the app installed to see how long it lasts
refer to the final paragraph of my post
I never said you were, just pointing it out
I patched it with revanced so it’s still going. I just like being here better. Gonna try mastodon too.
I really like Mastodon. The whole federated nature of it guarantees that the content you want to see won’t be censored or hidden by the algorithm.
It will only get better as more people use it.
Mastodon is pretty cool overall, but it’s dominated by politics until you start finding accounts to follow that aren’t politically oriented.
tbf so was twitter
I’m intrigued by this approach. How does Revanced make it work?
You can’t defeat me, Reddit. I’ll keep Boost on my phone forever.
My shortcut to it is now in a graveyard folder, alongside an old app called Troper.
I gave up on it last week after I noticed it wouldn’t load any actual posts. All I could do is scroll the front page and not view any actual content. Let’s give another round of f*ck reddit.
It still works perfectly fine for me. Not sure why different people have different experiences.
It died a week ago for me.
Just used the API key trick and I still use it. When Boost for Lemmy launches I’ll move over to the fediverse.
There are plenty of great apps already. I keep coming back to voyager myself
I don’t doubt you. It’s just that Boost to me is/was perfection so every other app I tried was a disappointment. I prefer to wait for Boost for Lemmy because of that. Meanwhile I am still using Boost with my own API key and it retains full functionality. Don’t know how long that will be the case though.
