In an emailed statement on Saturday, a spokesperson said the Saskatchewan Party government “remains committed to implementing the policy.”

“Parents and guardians have an important role in protecting and supporting their children as they grow and develop,” the statement said.

There was no mention of the rally in the Saskatchewan government’s response.

Why the fuck do these people always panic about such nonsense? Can’t we get them panicking about something real like the erosion of our rights, wealth inequality, climate change? No, these feckless idiots are panicked about pronouns. The Pronoun Panic. I guess it’s easier to get through your day if you’re panicked about something imaginary instead of something real that has actual consequences.

You’re so angry that you’re picking fights with allies.

My comment was that the white bread christofascists are getting worked up about something that has no effect on their lives in their safe, white bread, christofascist echo bunker communities.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Hundreds of people gathered outside the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina on Saturday to speak out against a new provincial government policy that requires parental consent when children under 16 want to use different names or pronouns at school.

Carla Blakley, a Lutheran pastor in Regina, says schools are meant to be a safe space for children and calls the policy “extremely harmful.”

Ariana Giroux, director of the UR Pride Centre for Sexuality and Gender Diversity —a non-profit service provider housed at the University of Regina — hopes the rally sends a message to the provincial government.

Meanwhile, a recent survey released by the Angus Reid Institute found 50 per cent of Saskatchewan respondents said they wanted to be informed and provide consent for students to change their name or pronouns.

In its application, UR Pride said the rules are not justifiable under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and deny gender-diverse students basic entitlements, including “a safe and welcoming educational environment in which to be themselves.”

That can take several months to do," Bennett Jensen, director of legal for the advocacy group Egale Canada, which is co-counsel in the application, told CBC on Friday.

The original article contains 630 words, the summary contains 194 words. Saved 69%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

If my child wanted to be called “he” at school, I would want to know it, no?

If the child is too afraid to ask it’s parents, maybe it’s time to call child services or something? Like clearly, something is wrong and having the school change the pronouns without the parents knowledge ain’t gonna fix this child situation. Also, the parent will eventually know it…

There are a lot of situations where Child and Family Services won’t step in, but it’s still not something that you would want to live through.

Sometimes it’s just about hiding well enough to not get kicked out, so you can finish school or be able to stay in real school instead of getting placed into religious private school.

Parents may eventually find out anyway, but they also might not. I was a goodie two-shoes when I was kicked out for being gay, but most parents didn’t seem to know about the drug/smoking/drinking/sexting habits of their children.

Such as when the parent invokes their religion as a reason to be shitty to their kid.

The proper path to that is better and more communication between the school and the parents, not authoritatively banning gender affirming care.

But authoritatively banning basic gender affirming behavior doesn’t hurt the child?

Maybe the answer here is put more effort than to make a one sized fits all solution to this crisis.

I did not say that in any way. Of course banning gender affirming behaviour hurts the child, just as telling the parents might do.

So is your argument that using a child’s preferred pronouns are not a forming of gender affirming care?I’m kinda confused on your position.

My position is very simple: don’t tell kids parents about their choices, because telling them might make the parents hurt the kids. What’s the issue with my position?

I was under the impression you were against telling parents, which made some of your posts seem very contradictory.

Amazing the fight between parents, government, and LGBTQ+ people.

People need to decide what is the role that school and teachers should play in society.

I feel as I am witnessing a collabse of one of the most fundamental pillars of societies.

My personal opinion, school should be abolished and a new system need to take over. A system were the role of each party is clearly defined.

We need to make knowledge buildings, that have knowledge givers, who can knowledgize knowledgees with knowledge they learned from big knowledge buildings, and which is approved by knowledge deciders at the behest of the parents of the knowledgees.

        Wait…

I mean the role of people in schools are pretty clearly defined.

It’s people like you and politicians who want people who dumb who are making it seem like the roles aren’t.

Also your first line is a hell of a dog whistle and doesn’t reflect reality.
