I did some research on EBT programs in some of these states in college. They are all overrun with fraud. The states run these programs in the most half-ass way possible. Most of the funds get sold on the street for pennies on the dollar. Not to mention, that most of the people receiving the benefits in these states live in food deserts with no public transport where they don’t even have a quality place to use the funds. The program is generally a fucking disaster and the leaders in these states have no interest in making it better. More desperate workers to exploit for their wealthy donors.

Uh no. EBT saved my life in college. It’s a great program, there if you need it and income regulated. Some nuts may misuse it, but someone somewhere is getting that food.

That’s kind of the credo of both parties:

Republicans: Nobody can have it because 1 person might use it fraudulently.
Democrats: Everybody can have it, we don’t care how many people use it fraudulently so long as 1 person is being saved by it.

This principle is what America was founded upon.

Better to allow 1 guilty person go free than imprison 1 innocent person.

Anyone who disagrees, assumes they’ll never been the 1 innocent person.

This basic principle is the basis for the political divide in America.
