On the eastern coast of the Black Sea is the Georgian region of Abkhazia, or the independent Republic of Abkhazia, depending on who you ask - Abkhazia has been recognised as an independent state by Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Nauru, and Syria; however, Georgia and most of the UN consider Abkhazia a sovereign territory of Georgia.

Hey, Mr. Moderator. Let me elaborate.

I lived in Gagra, Abkhasia, as a kid in ~1989-1991. Part of my family fled from Kyiv, Ukraine, due to the Chornobyl catastrophe (fuck russia here also), and eventually, we found ourselves in Gagra. I saw these pictures when they were alive. The place was marvelous. I still dream of those forests full of fireflies that I have never seen again anywhere I’ve been.

Do you know what came next in 1992? russia came to “free” Abkhasia. “Divide and conquer”, they say. Bit by bit. This is what came next for Abkhasia. A disaster. An abandoned region just to take it from Georgia.

Do you know what came next in 2008? Right. russia came to “free” Georgia.

Fast forward to 2014 - russia invaded Ukraine.

You can envelop all this in some sort of moral choice of yours to separate the country from people, blame governments or their heads, I just choose to donate money to burn the fuckers and say fuck russia.

        Make your choice, Mr. Moderator.
