I’m not Catholic, but the confession is one of those things that, if done right, might actually be very valuable. The ability to talk to someone about the bad stuff you did, get it off your chest, get some sort of closure so you can let it go, without any risk of getting ratted out to the authorities, could be very good for your mental health, I imagine.
And if everybody does it, there’s no stigma attached to it. So if you go and have nothing to say, you go to cover for the people who do have something.
Though modern therapy can serve the same role, of course.

I’m absolutely baffled at Labour. The Tories were a complete clown show, and it should have been trivial to put up some serious opposition against them, but they never did. Only when the Tories really burned out, did Labour win, and they’re immediately giving us Tories-light. The same shit, just toned down 20%.
When does the UK start voting for better parties? Replace the Tories with LibDem and Labour with the Greens. If I lived in England, I’d be upset I couldn’t vote for SNP. Every other party is better than these two.

I don’t know under what rock he’s lived for the past 10 years, but civility in politics has been quite thoroughly killed by Trump and his lackeys, which now seems to include Adams. He picked the side of no civility, so he’s reaping what ue sowed.
