Yeah they should’ve just made the soundtrack.

I’m sure I have a bunch, but for the fediverse I think the most controversial is that I think neopronouns are a bad idea. DISCLAIMER I support queer folks, and I also use neopronouns when requested (because there’s zero reason to be a dick about it), but I think everybody would be better off without them.
The entire purpose of pronouns is to offer a quick, generic (i. e. non-individual) way of referring to people or objects without using their names. Using neopronouns which have to be communicated and learned first is the opposite of that. So in my view they’re not really pronouns, just additional names one has to learn for a person.
I think the most sensible way of accommodating all genders is using whatever pronouns are present in the language (usually male and female, or a generic pronoun), plus a non-binary pronoun if needed, like singular they in English.

Dunno about that, but the DoW is alive and well, fulfilling its purpose.

When you go to the mall, what exactly causes the anxiety/feeling weird?

Thanks a lot for the offer. This might become a project of mine in the future but not before the end of this year. I might get back to you then. :)

Do you already have a server deployed? How familiar are you with Linux?
No server. I just installed Linux a few months ago as dual boot after being a lifelong Windows user (since 3.1 lol). Currently using both OS but will move fully to Linux once I have some projects finished. Self-hosting might become a future project after that and if yes, I’ll come back to this community and this thread!

I.e., not limited at all.

What’s stopping people you know from taking this step?
I’m a noob when it comes to IT. (Even though in my family I’m the one people ask when they have computer issues lol.) I would really like to get into self-hosting and all that, and I think if I found some good guides I would probably be able to make things work, but it still sounds very daunting to me. Like, I imagine days if not weeks of sifting through online resources to fix a thousand little errors and issues that would come up. (Maybe I’m mistaken, maybe it’s all really easy even for noobs. Just trying to explain my feelings on the matter.)
Edit: Woke up to 10 replies lol. Thanks for everybody’s input and helpful links. I think this might become a future project for me, but not before winter 26/27 (for life reasons).

That’s such a (US) American thing. “Someone coughed when the cop didn’t order it? Deserves to be executed right then and there.” I see it all the time in comments about killings like this and it never stops weirding me out.

Good for California. If only all countries of the earth followed suit so the billionaires would have to move into their weird libertarian ocean hubs.

Canada would be wise to build nukes ASAP.

No. I was just interested because I’ve seen a lot of headlines about how Grok creates all these problematic images of women, minors etc., but not about other similar generative AI software. But my understanding so far has been that there’s no real way to safeguard generative AI at all, so I was wondering whether this was a Grok-only problem, and if so, how others were avoiding it.

Do other generative AI services also do this? Or do they have functioning safeguards?
That’s more for semi-vegetarianism though. If OP is going semi-vegan, I’d wager a guess they’ve been vegetarian already. Maybe this calls for a new word like flexanism lol.

Lichess because I use it a lot and it’s my favourite website.

Right, I tried again now and it showed up correctly.

Where’s the story? All I see is a comment section?

Surprised this hasn’t been posted yet in this thread.
…which is why I doubt this will actually happen. Too many US oligarchs would lose money. It’s just more posturing by the Taco.
