“Trump and House Republicans are crashing the economy, raising your cost of living, and driving us toward a recession,” said the chamber’s top Democrat. “What happened to the so-called golden era of America?”

I am pretty sure Goldman sachs the economic terrorists have shorted the market and now want to make a recession come true. This black rock and Mckinsey are three companies that I want to see destroyed.

The problem with saying a recession is coming with too much certainty is that you can actually cause people to stop spending and trigger the recession itself.

We pretty much stopped spending money shortly after he entered office. Utilities, mortgage, and basic necessities only, garden is being rampped up and we’re making pretty much everything from scratch too. The food we are buying are coming from local farms/butchers where possible.

I the last couple of years, I’ve grown to really understand why my depression era great grandparents were the way they were.

Uhh I think the tariffs and the explosion of high cost items is going to cause people to stop spending as it is. This is just silly reasoning at this point. Let’s live in reality, shall we, instead of constantly giving these fucking hamfisted idiots the benefit of the doubt.

But saying it almost guarantees it. It’s better to let it do it on its own, that way there’s no doubt why.

There isn’t any doubt as to why, playing fucking games like this is letting charlatans dictate the terms of reality. “but they could blame it on people saying a recession is coming” is a fucking cop out dude.

Do you honestly believe the tangerine turd and his sycophants aren’t going to fling shit everywhere when everything burns?

It’s vitally important to keep the causes clear.

Trump & co want a recession. If the current measures somehow don’t cause one, they will think up new stuff and do whatever it takes.

They’re going to do that anyway, the only people who are tricked by this bullshit are people not living in reality. Playing defense is what got us here to begin with instead of forcefully calling their bullshit what it was 30 god damned years ago. Capitulating to them before they’ve even got to the point of making up excuses is why they keep succeeding.

I doubt that a rando like me posting a comment on Lemmy will flip the whole US economy like that :).
