So, I have been giving this a lot of thought and come November I won’t be voting for team blue or team red in the upcoming elections, but I will be voting for a candidate I belive in.

I have decided that my vote will go to Claudia de la Cruz because she lines up with my beliefs.

Some might say that I’m throwing away my vote and that this will just let Trump become president since I’m not giving Biden my vote, but honestly he doesn’t represent me anyways and why should I vote for a party that doesn’t deserve my vote anyway?

I hope Trump goes down in flames all the way to hell where he will have pineapples shoved up his ass while dressed as a French maid, but if the Dems loose in November, it won’t be because me or many others just didn’t vote for them, it will be because they did not do anything to show us they deserve out vote.

Sure Biden has done a bunch of stuff for the American people, but I just can’t look away with the horror of what is happening in Palestine and be ok with him or other dems calling anyone who sympathizes with Palestinians as being pro Hamas or pro terrorism.

Sorry to anyone who isn’t in the US and sees this post, I know the US politics are super annoying for you all, but I just wanted to get this off my chest.

TL;DR - I’m not voting for Biden just because Trump bad. I’m voting for someone who represents me.

I love how these articles come out at election time, telling you to vote against Biden. It’s very clear who is putting out these articles and idiots fall for them

    Hello everyone,

Mod jumping in. As per the sidebar “Rule 3: Avoid controversial topics such as politics or societal debates”. Locking this thread for now, thank you to the people who reported it.

    Have a good one.

Man I sure am glad this person I’ve never heard of posted their opinion about how both parties suck online.

Its really is hard to tell, one party wants to make sure all trans kids are murdered, the other wants to make sure all kids can have free lunch at school, so yeah it’s really hard to tell which one to vote for.

I know that Biden is old, and man, Trump is old too, maybe voting for an unheard of 3rd not old person will help. Definitely. There no chance at all that this unheard 3rd person wouldnt win because I am voting for her. There are certainly more people like me than there are redneck biggots out there that will vote for Trump. I’m sure the Biden voters will also change their mind too. This is a great idea.

But seriously, when I do vote, this opinion will definitely help change my vote and certainly won’t quicken our march to becoming an authoritarian nation ruled by religious zealots and homophobes.

That would never happen and there’s not even a book or highly rated television series that imagines that, certainly not 2 or 3 of them.

Man I love America, nothing bad happens here.

but I just can’t look away with the horror of what is happening in Palestine and be ok with him

Biden has nothing to do with that though. This is the US foreign policy on Israel, it doesn’t matter who is president, this will continue to be the policy. And Trump would be even more pro Israel (his moving of the US embassy to Jerusalem was one of the biggest geopolitical middlefingers to the Palestinians in decades).

So voting in US poltics based on your views on the Gaza conflict is completly pointless, even borderline stupid.

I’m voting for someone who represents me.

No, you’re throwing away your vote and end up being represented by Biden or Trump anyway.

I can see both arguments for and against voting for a third party. Ultimately it’s your call and you’re gonna do what you’re gonna do. I do think it’s a sign of a deeply broken system when people can legitimately think that casting your vote for another candidate is a waste though.

I’m in the UK and whilst it’s not exactly the same an awful lot of people will say that a vote for anyone that isn’t Labour is a vote for the Big Bad Tories. And whilst I do agree that it probably doesn’t help get rid of the Tories it’s also a pretty bad indictment of how broken the electoral system is.

Honestly, it ticks me off when people attack third party voters instead of going after the majority of eligible voters that just don’t vote at all. Like, if you have such a problem with my personal vote, please go after the people who didn’t even try first. Thank you for voting, and your reasons are yours and yours alone.

Virtue signalling and punishing people who use their constitutional ability to vote vs those who don’t even bother absolutely infuriates me.

It’s not about attacking a 3rd candidate - it’s that this is a 2 party system. You can fucking hem an haw all you want - you can believe whatever the fuck you want. You can be the most leftist fucking tankie or evangelical rightwing nut job. It doesn’t matter - be what you want, follow your ideals.

But when it comes to voting - you have 1 chance to make your vote count that’s - during the primaries.

After that you tow the line and vote D or R - because that’s the only way you will see the SLIGHTEST amount of change in the direction you want.
